The Rock = Badass

GossipCop – Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson appears to have known about Osama bin Laden’s death before almost anyone. The Fast Five star was already enjoying a record weekend at the box office when, at 10:24 p.m. ET last night, Johnson tweeted, “Just got word that will shock the world – Land of the free… home of the brave DAMN PROUD TO BE AN AMERICAN!” What’s interesting about Johnson’s excited tweet is that it came roughly 45 minutes before news confirming bin Laden’s death began leaking to media outlets. While online sources were obviously speculating about the reason for President Obama’s last-minute speech long before he took the podium, Johnson’s 10:24 p.m. note seems to have popped up shortly before journalists and other “people in the know” started spreading the Osama shocker. Intriguing.

Orton beat Christian for the title tonight at Smackdown

WWE Hall of Famer Jerry "The King" Lawler will appear at the Bowie Baysox minor league baseball game next Thursday night. He will throw out the ceremonial first pitch and also sign autographs and take photos with fans.

Looks like it's just Lawler and a tribute to Macho Man.

edit: I think it's plural because it's an annual event. Last year they had Mick Foley.

Either way, that's the best on mic performance since the attitude era.

CM Punk truly is the best in the world. Before people go there, there is no way that was a shoot. That was just WWE letting Punk off the leash to sell an angle, and it might been the best promo in about a decade.

Obviously you should take it with a grain of salt, but CM Punk was suspended indefinitely after his rant last night.

edit: and apparently they taped next weeks show right after last nights live show so the suspension lasted all of an hour or so.

If you guys want an idea where this is coming from, go look up The Summer of Punk from ROH. It's basically the exact reverse of this angle where Punk was champ, and told everyone for a couple months that he was going to WWE, taking the belt with him. ROH kept sending people at him to try to take the belt, and he kept winning, and proclaiming that he was better than them, and the belt would stay with a true wrestler, a true champion, etc. I think he even signed his WWE contract on the belt after a title defense at one point. It was a pretty awesome angle.

By far the best promo I have ever seen. CM Punk is the best in the game his ring work his mic work wk in and wk out his work stands out. This is turning into the best angle since the NWO first showed up.

I don't really watch anymore, but if Punk is on, I'll always watch. The only other guys I can remember as compelling as punk are Austin, Rock, Jericho, early Mr McMahon, maybe DX...that's about it. No one else is on that level.
