Anyone try Buffalo Cantina in Brooklyn? Are the wings any good? Saw them on Man v Food and want to try it out.

they're good, but mulholland's across the street has some of the best wings i've ever had.

I love when I cant sign for a package in my apartment and have to go to a section of Brooklyn I shouldn't really be going to. UPS is in Canarsie (I took the L the entire way). FedEx was in Red Hook.

just be glad that you didn't get sent to maspeth. that area is like a third world country. and you have to take a bus to get there! (shutter)

A bit of advice for out of towners looking for a job: firms often don't want to hire people who are not living already in the area (it's a hastle nobody wants to deal with). If you can, put the address of a friend on your resume so it makes it look like you are not coming in from out of town.

i moved to new york with no job, no place to live and very little money. if i can do it, you can do it.
just apply everywhere. i found something somewhat related to my field and worked my ass off.

Ok cool..I have a good opportunity im working on with one of those companies Buffett recently invested in, but its in DC. If it falls through I think ill just pack my shit up and move to NYC. In fact I am almost hoping it fails just so I can do it.

right in my hood. my most helpful recommendation is to get as many things as possible to split if you are going with a bunch of people. the brisket is probably the best meat there, although their pork belly and pulled pork are both fantastic as well. can't go wrong with meat at all really.
for sides, make sure to get the beans. the cole slaw is pretty bland unfortunately.

Why do New Yorkers bitch so much about the holidays? I love the energy and people etc......
Can't wait to wake up tomorrow morning and go watch a bit of the parade with my wife. Then going to watch some football, then going out to dinner with my wife and my mom (small family as wife is from Canada where they don't have our thanksgiving and did not feel like going out the burbs) at Fishtail.

yeah 5th ave is nightmare...I live on 46th and 8th and work near Grand Central...so still crowded.
I like Fishtail, go there a lot actually. I want to try his new place, kitchen soon.

my 2 cents:
NY'ers are either one of two categories: 1) extremely high functioning people who cannot live anywhere else because they need to be surrounded by the best the world has to offer or 2) extremely dysfunctional people who have to live on an island surrounded by other equally dysfunctional individuals.
Holiday season oftens means leaving the island to spend time with friends/family who are live relatively normal, mundane, but functional lives. It's not an easy thing to do.
