Obama vs. Romney 2012: Debates - Foreign Policy Monday Night

  • RDurr said...

its annoying to have people equate ron paul with the tea party. he lines up with the stated goals of the tea party, but it should be the clear that the vast majority of the tea party is the same social conservative assholes that ruin the republican party.

incorrect. But I'd love to see whatever evidence you can provide. You're far from the first person to try to discredit them by tying the movement to social conservatism, but it's not true. Obviously there is a significant number who are both, but to say "vast majority" is absolutely false.

Title to be updated with current events. Suggestions welcomed.

OK, let's TRY to avoid the stupid, or I'm gonna have to start a second thread for dumbasses to call each others assholes and post memes from DailyKos and newsmax.com articles. You know who you are.

lol. Censor the evil and dangerous meme's!! YAY!!!

Debate moderators were chosen for diversity - a network liberal, a cable liberal, a PBS liberal and a female liberal.

As much as I'd really like to hammer Durr on this, he is pretty correct that the TP has been co-opted - I mean Bachmann? Really?

In the end, though, it's the opposition's way of saying "Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain" (deficits, debt load, whatever you want to call it).

Even a Chicago liberal I work with admits that the TP originally had a totally legitimate message regarding spending and was certainly a reaction to Bush's bogus accounting and spending as much as any Democratic equivalent. Yet here we are years later because controlling spending seems to be anathema to the left.

  • Well like I said, there are many people who are both...Bachmann is a good example. But I have yet to hear any tea party rally or speaker talk about social conservatism at a rally. Maybe there have been those who do, but that just reinforces my point that they're outliers and not representative. Just about every speaker, sign and website I've ever seen from the tea party only talks about fiscal conservatism.

I agree. If the TP stays on message they will hopefully help prevent distraction from the major issue facing the country. Somebody needs to tell the Republican organization, though, so they stop with the BS that they're wrapping the TP around.

  • DWS is a paid ultra lefty bomb thrower... She throws an increasingly left base all the read meat they can devour. She's a great lap dog, and can read from the most outrageous script with seemingly no moral compass. She doesn't believe half the shit she spews, she's in it for the attention and self promotion. She doesn't question her chain of command, she's just like a puppet.

No big surprise -- libdems already caught lying about Ryan. They'll literally throw anything up against a wall to see what sticks.

Clarence Mitchell IV (aka C4) said on his radio show this morning that what the libdems are trying to do to Romney in their ads right now is about the lowest, dirtiest stuff he's ever seen in politics.

. Absolutely loved the first line of the article at the HotAir link:

If this is anything like 2008, this may become a regular feature.

of course he did not "vote" to ban abortions in all cases because the bill never came to vote. he co-sponsored the bill which you can find here.

    1/7/2011--Introduced.
Sanctity of Human Life Act - Declares that: (1) the right to life guaranteed by the Constitution is vested in each human and is the person's paramount and most fundamental right; (2) each human life begins with fertilization, cloning, or its functional equivalent, at which time every human has all legal and constitutional attributes and privileges of personhood; and (3) Congress, each state, the District of Columbia, and all U.S. territories have the authority to protect all human lives.

She is also a symbol of what is wrong with politics today. A no talent indivdual with a major role -- even the Dem's deserve better than this -- while I disagree with many of their positions on the highest level I can understand why some feel that way (even if it is wrong) the should have a better champion than her.

On the subject of the thread -- Paul is too yioung to understand that race starts at labor day after the conventions -- so I say to him "Mr. D -- unlock that thread!"

Looks more like a declarative statement resolution and not any sort of law banning anything.

  • I am looking forward to the Frode/Crofton vs. Soulman/Paul ticket. I might enjoy just a thread with these four but then would miss out on all the unintended humor that 5th and McCracken bring.

Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney has decried the losses on the auto bailout and insisted that forcing GM and Chrysler Group LLC to go through bankruptcy first would have saved taxpayers money.

But President George W. Bush — who gave the automakers and their finance arms about $25 billion in his final weeks in office in bailout funds — said there wasn't time

Also note that Paul Ryan voted for the bailouts.

You still got some learning to do. Soulman's analysis are deeper then yours. And unless you are running to be a community organizer, you are unelectable with your avatar. Now Frode and Crofton are interchangeable.

LOL, that's just because sohlman hasn't learned that writing War and Peace on here isn't going to help his arguments against people whose minds are already made up.

90% of tea partiers or 90% of the population? I think it is more then 75% of the populations supports the old man has a option to speak about what he feels is right. Its his opinion right or wrong. The ultra libs wanted to make it another war on something but it backfired.
