People that have experience with security clearances.....I'm in the process of waiting to see if I get one for my job....I also have a part-time job on the side (which I listed when I applied for the clearance). If I quit the part time job, would it affect my chances of getting the security clearance?

Shouldn't clearance process is basically to make sure you are who you say you are and have been for last XX years depending on level. If you put down that place of work when you submitted the forms to OPM, then leave it after (during the clearance process), they will do the math. What level clearance?

  • My hate for NC State dates back to Philip Rivers senior night. Before that I would make fun of them from time to time but didn't think about them much, and in fact liked that they were also willing to stand up to UNC and Duke. The aftermath of our win there really opened my eyes to their insanity, and my hatred for them was born.

  • I put a little girls bike on craigslist for $5 because the free section is filled with weirdos. Two people said they want the bike but both need me to drop it off. Both came with stories about how bad off they are and how happy that bike would make their daughter.

  • On Thursday, a group of Buddhists traveled to Gloucester and purchased 534 lobsters, about 600 pounds worth, from a wholesaler and dumped them back into the sea in a prayer ceremony in which the crustaceans’ bands were cut and blessed water was sprayed on them.

Yesterday, lobstermen from the fishing vessel Degelyse said they had traveled to the site of the ceremony, laid their traps, and hauled up exactly 534 lobsters,

There is no chance anyone could like NC State if they were on these boards during the Phillllip days.

  • so i was watching the news last night and they ran a story about the gold craze and they featured a story about one of those "we buy gold" shops in Rockville. They talked about all these people bringing in their unwanted, old and sometimes broken gold jewelry and selling it and walking away with some serious cash.

So while my wife was sleeping I went into her closet where she has a few jewelry boxes. I never really kept track of these things but she has a shitload of miscellaneous gold jewelry in there that she never wears. Perhaps she doesen't even know she has all this. Most of the stuff doesen't really match her style.

I could use a new set of irons, any chance she would notice if I sold a few pieces? Some of these jewelry boxes looked like they haven't even been opened in a long time. Oh and no, my wife would never notice if a bought a new set of irons.

  • 100% chance that the day you take them, she decides she wants to look through her old jewelry.

  • and don't take it to a "we buy gold" place. The majority of jewelery stores (if not all of them) will buy gold for what it's worth.

also, 100% chance stealing from your wife to buy new golf clubs is a great idea.

This. The "we buy gold" places feast on those that need cash right away and can get away with buying for next to nothing.

  • So, I was informed that the person who lived in my apartment prior to me had the exact same name as me. Thus, all the mail I've been expecting for the last three weeks has most likely been forwarded to him. Additionally, I've been getting some of his mail. However, the Post Office says they cannot give me his new address. How exactly do I go about handling this?
