I'm already having one delivered sometime within the next 2-3 weeks. The carrier seems to take a really long time, and can't provide any accurate arrival date information.

My son had his first T-Ball game last night... sad to say the best player on the opposing team was a girl.

You know that thing at work where you send an email and then someone replies but CCs someone more important than either of you to prove their point like "Hey jerk, this is what we're doing and LOOK WHO IS IN MY CORNER?!?!" I did that for the first time today and it definitely worked. It's little work battle victories like this that push me ever closer to suicide.

I couldn't find any sports on TV last night I wanted to watch, so I started scrolling through the channels and found an awesome show on Nat Geo called "Doomsday Preppers." Basically, people fear some end-of-the-world event is coming soon and, well, prep for it.

Some of the highlights include:

The guy storing thousands upon thousands of seeds trying to reenact a gunfight. He claims the perps were after his seeds (naturally), but a newspaper article headline claims it was a pot deal gone wrong.

A lady was worried that the government is gaining too much power and soon will declare martial law and kick in your door tomorrow. Outside of going to class, she spends all day prepping. She mentioned as an aside that she does not have time for a long-term relationship.

The nut living off the land in Maine with three kids. He was in the army or something and despite having worked with thermal cameras, motion detectors and the like in his career, the best alarm system he could imagine was bird feeders. He's spent the better part of twenty years listening to birds to understand them. His middle son was reluctant to take in all the survival training, so he took him on his rite of passage, helped him build a shelter and made a fire, then he gave him his umbilical cord.

The shrink who surprised his family by taking them to a cave. Meanwhile, his Cambodian wife had survived two months in a cave evading the Khmer Rouge and absolutely abhorred the idea of willingly spending time in a cave.

The loon who built an underground hideout in the top of the Rockie Mountains to escape from polar shift. It took him hours to get their from his home, so he admitted he wants to move closer.

The best might be the reasons people have for needing to prepare for the end of the world. Some fear radiation or nuclear fallout! Others worry about natural disasters, while most seem to think a global great depression is coming and resources will soon become scarce, be it food, water, fuel, or all of the above. Scarcity of resources -> widespread panic -> widespread rioting, civil unrest -> lack of society, quite naturally.

Is anyone else addicted to this show?
