Yeah, I'm 26, and i'm not even close to getting married either. So i know there's a long way to go before that would even happen.

But it's not like "I dont want kids because i don't want to stop going out and having fun", it's more of a thing of "I have no interest in children. I never have"

I have no interest in kids except for mine. My kid is awesome. My friends' kids are complete non-entities to me.

  • Like even when she's been showing me pictures of this new baby, I really have no reaction. I'm happy that she's happy, but beyond that, nothing

I just embarrassed myself with this post

  • I'm 24 and 100% without a doubt am having kids, but not in the immediate future. Of course I want to start training the next great Terps/Ravens/Os fan and someone is going to have to beat the shit out of the inevitable adopted child of ghey husbands JJ Redick and Brian Zoubek.

I also love sports and feel like having a son will undoubtedly let me enjoy those for the rest of my life.*

*If I am assuming too much, don't tell me.

I'm the same way. I have no interest in other peoples kids aside from my cousins kids who are now at an age where I can play with them the few times a year that I see them. A few of my wifes friends have had kids and I've never held them as it didn't interest me. But years later I'm excited about the prospect of my own kids, so things change.

I feel like eventually you're just like "fuck it, I'm bored and don't care, I'll give in to you honey" and then 9 months later- POOF

You are a prime candidate for "having-four-girls-you-hate" territory

  • akwhite8 - get a dog. A dog requires a decent amount of training, planning, feeding, and responsibility. Obviously owning a dog is probably 1% the responsibility of having a child, but it will at least give you an idea of what you can do. Plus it might be a healthy next step in your relationship if she is wifey material.

    Hey JMU6375

  • Oh I want a dog more than anything. I can't have a dog in my apartment and I travel around too much, but the first chance I get I'm getting a dog

It was kind of the opposite in my household...I've always been good with kids (probably should have been a teacher). My wife had always been a little hesitant, because she doesn't think she has the instincts to be a mother. Now she wants a kid of her own more than ever, but couldn't give two shits about anyone else's rug rats.

Im ready for aa 5th of vodica to end my feels.

  • I only want a kid if he/she is guaranteed to be rich at a young age. I'm an investment that did not pan out for my parents, I don't want the same thing to happen to me.

This is my situation. Fiancee is not sure but she will come around or get punched

  • Mini-me is my second chance, so I can impose all my unfulfilled athletic hopes and dreams on him. He will become Mr. Smiley 2.0.

I'm pretty sure that's an unhealthy approach, but whatever.

There's a new girl at work who is extremely weird. She IMs me links all days of weird/cute newstories. No one else in the office likes her but I consider myself a former weirdo so I try to be nice and cordial. She's ugly btw.

She's been bugging me for a "Top 10" actor list for two days. I keep saying, "I'm busy" but because I have this awful need to be liked by everyone, I say "I'll get it to you later today" and then she stands up, walks to my desk and says, out loud in front of five coworkers, "Pinky swear!" and she stick out her pinky for me.

This may have been the most emasculating thing that has ever happened to me and I'm not even that masculating. I did not "pinky swear" but I did say I'll get it done for her soon. Everyone IMed me like "WTF are you doing with her?" and then I explained the top 10 actor list which made it sound even lamer.

The point is never be nice to anyone.

Great story. Here's a list for you to use because I think you have been through enough

    1 Keanu Reeves
    2 Tom Cruise
    3 William Shatner
    4 Lawrence Olivier
5 That fruity little guy from Titanic
    6 Jerry Lewis
    7 Marlon Brando
    8 Whoopi Goldberg
    9 John Wilkes Booth
    10 Rock Hudson

Okay I should probably start a new thread, but i hate starting new threads since I'm awful at it, especially when it's attention whorey. But

People with kids, have you always wanted kids? I've never really known how to react to children. I'm not really enthused by them and by no means look forward to having offspring. My girlfriend, who will more than likely be the wifey, loves children. Her cousin just had a baby this week and she's going nutso about it. She obviously wants them, but is there a point when you're like "okay, I'm ready"? Is that something that just happens after you've been married?

Because I'm not like HELL NO to having kids, but I really don't have any thoughts or strong desires to have children.

My wife and I were okay with not having kids, but one time we visited some friends in Staten Island, and watched their little boy run in and out of the room about 30 times and trip over the sill EVERY FREAKING TIME.You've got to love someone as puppy-like as that, so we got one of our own.

  • My wife and I are about 90% sure we're not going to have kids. Aside from the medical implications of having kids when we're over 40, we just like our station in life. We have nieces and nephews we're close to both physically and relationship wise (we know, it's not the same) and neither of us have that unquenchable desire to be parents.

Plus we're selfish and don't feel like spending the next decade and a half at soccer games.

    To each, his own.
