I actually miss the 70's doritos. I can still remember the taste. They need to have Dorito Throwback to pair with Pepsi Throwback. I can't think of anything more awesome.

These were the best ever, then they got discontinued. Must have had extra tasty cancer flakes sprinkled on top

Agreed....his rant about coffee transitioning into "This is damn fine coffee!" was also amusing to me.

  • My coworkers and I pulled into our "hotel" in Winfield, Kansas tonight...no desk clerk. Waited 20 minutes, no one shows up. All of a sudden this college age guy runs in, goes behind the counter, photocopies what turned out to be his timecard. He looks through a small directory, calls a number and leaves a message on somebody's voicemail: "Hey (whatever), I just wanted to let you know that I just quit and you better get down here, because I'm leaving NOW, you people are in violation of the labor laws, and that's it."

We were more amused than anything else, and asked him what was up. According to him, the mgr/owner was a real scumbag, and we just happened to be checking in when he melted down. So he pealed out of the parking lot, we went and found another place in Arkansas City, KS, and that's that. There's not really that many fine hotels either in Winfield or Arkansas City, sadly.

Fortunately, I had a really good Mexican dinner at El Maguey in Arkansas City, after flying into Tulsa OK and driving for 3 effing hours in the sticks of OK, so I was actually in a pretty good mood.

  • You should have just grabbed a key and got yourself a room. Then, if the mgr/ owner caught on to you, you could have just said that the kid checked you in and took your cash and damnit, you paid for this room already.

Don't talk about my moms, yo.

  • Accidentally just stumbled onto this guy Mike Masse on youtube. Dude looks like Louis C.K., but his voice is cocaine for my ears.

Space Oddity, Karma Police, Mad World, and One are also amazing. Every cover I've listened to of his is actually amazing, but those stood out for me of the 10 or so I've listened to so far tonight.

This performance was recorded on 4/19/08. I really hate how the YouTube compression messes with the audio. Those sudden volume changes are not my doing.

  • Does anyone actually keep their CVS card (or any other card like it) and use the same one repeatedly? It seems like such a waste since they pass them out like candy every time I buy something.

Not to mention I always come up with some lame excuse why I don't have it knowing very well I just threw it in the trash when I was there 3 days ago.

If you don't use the same card, you miss on on a lot of "extra bucks" receipts...which is basically free money to use in the store.

I printed out a card with the bar codes from 8 different stores' club cards, so I don't have to carry around a huge stack of cards.

I always thought it was just for cue-pons they print out on your receipt. I'm guessing it's based on % of what you spend? Can't imagine it being more than 1-2%.

A lot of times it'll print out ~$1-$5 "Extra Bucks", if you buy whatever is on special that week. Then with your next purchase they count as cash. There are even a lot of situations where you're essentially getting stuff for free (e.g., $2.99 for toothpaste, but they give you $2.99 in extra bucks back)

When I asked her why she rooted for Dook she said, "Because they play white guys who speak English"

The South is a fucked up place.
