Pearl Jam Twenty was great. Some great history of the band and some awesome live stuff. The last scene was fantastic and I was at one of the shows featured. Definitely not a concert DVD though.

I just got around to watching Toy Story 3.
****SPOILERS*****
Usually I am not a fan of Deus ex Machina, but the use here was amazing. My gf had just said, "I can't believe this" when they were all resigned to dying, and I just looked over at her, shrugged, and said, "Deus ex machina?"
And then the Claw, which is not only a machine, but is a god to the aliens, comes and saves them. I just started laughing...fantastic cinematic pun. Whoever wrote that in there deserves a prize of some sort.

So, I was watching Ronin the other day, and I realized something: I am sick of car chases. Just totally over them in movies. I think they are worn out. If a movie shows a car chase in the trailer, I don't think I'll see that movie. There HAS to be a better way to build excitement and tension than a car chase...no matter where you set it.

Watched The Town this week. Action scenes were great. Back story was slow in parts. Overall I enjoyed it. Not a Ben Affleck fan, but don't hate him, thought he was good and I give him props as director.

Watched Contagion last night. Really enjoyed it and my microbiologist wife who usually bitches about dark labs with blue lighting portrayed on tv shows thought it was pretty accurate.

Inglourious Basterds. Dare I say underrated? Definitely slow at some points, but the characters and acting make up for that. Plus, some scenes are absolutely amazing.

Finally saw Black Swan last night. Wow, did Portman deserve that Oscar. I don't think the movie itself was great, but I can't remember a better performance I recent years than that one.
Also, the masturbation and lesbian scenes are a treat.

Rubber. A murderous drifter makes his way through the California desert, crossing the path of some unfortunate citizens, until the explosive denouement with police. Combines elements of 'No Country for Old Men', with Emilio Estevez' classic 'Maximum Overdrive.'
The format of the movie is highly unconventional, with the putative audience closely involved in its outcome. Recommended for those seeking something completely different. Brief bare ass scene of a twenty something hottie.
