Most Badass Presidents Since WWII

  • Thanks for this guys, I now know where to go for support when facing life's difficulties or I make a stupid mistake.

  • FTT, a quick piece of advice...don't get all butthurt and defensive like R&W because it will only make it worse. Take your lumps and just let everyone pile on and don't say anything or else its only gonna get worse.

  • So the presidents in this timeframe are:
    Eisenhower
    JFK
    LBJ
    Nixon
    Ford
    Carter
    Reagan
    GH Bush
    Clinton
    GW Bush
    Obama

    JFK is easily #1. Eisenhower based on military record would be high up, but don't remember learning how he was a badass in the White House. Nixon has to be top 5, maybe top 3, because of Watergate the fact he did go to China in the middle of the Cold War. Clinton should top 5 based on Lewinsky and the fact he was the first "cool" president since JFK.

    Also, if we want to include Truman, just go off of his second term.

  • H.W. is an interesting case. He's a war hero who jumps out of planes, ran the CIA, and pawned Saddam. But he just didn't have any swag.

  • How could you not include Truman near the top of your list? That decision to relieve MacArthur of his duties in Korea and Japan was a major event and took huge balls on his part because MacArthur was very popular among Americans and there is a possibility that if he didn't do it properly, Dougie could run for President and have a legitimate shot to win. If Douglass would have stayed, the Korea War would have been played out much much differently.

    Yeah I think these are good points. Truman had the guts to do very politically unpopular things that he thought were in the best interests of the country. It's why he was a one-termer and finished with historically low approval ratings, but with hindsight people have viewed him in a much better light.

    He's very badass because he relieve one of the most influential Amer in Asia of his duties, Douglass MacArthur, which was pretty badass.

    Reagan cut and run when the action got heated in the middle east. That isn't a move a president is supposed to make. Plus he was friendly to the Illegals.
