Missing class

It was obscure for me. I had one class in the math building my very first semester and then NEVER RETURNED TO THAT PART OF CAMPUS AGAIN FOR FOUR YEARS. I'm sure for all you engineering nerds and asians the buildings where us social science majors hung out were also obscure. And pretty much every building on the mall has a basement that could best be described as obscure.

This. This being my third semester, and I've never had any class on the mall. All of mine are in martin hall, math, physics, chemistry, jmp, and chem engineering buildings. I had one class way back in the compsci buidling by Av williams too.

  • I spent an hour and a half trying to find that fucking AV Williams building the first day of this semester. I have a random Comm 401 lecture in there.

  • During my last semester I had this crazy thought that i should try to go inside all the classroom buildings on campus. It turns out there way too many and many of them are locked.

  • depends. I have some classes that I go to religiously and some classes that I barely go to and I'm generally an 'A' student.

That said, 90% of the reason I go to class is determined by the attractiveness of girls a) in the class b) on the walk to class and c) on the walk home from class.

  • I had 9 business classes that I just went to the exams pretty much - they taught directly out of the books so there was no real reason for me to attend. This included Management, where the professor literally wrote the book she used.

  • The only time I missed class was for either games (failed two quizzes because I went to the ACC tournament, how that isn't an excused abscence, I'll never understand, Jerks) or concerts, and that was never more than twice a semester. Never skipped for anything else, even if I was sick.

  • My 2.53 GPA speaks for itself. In my senior year, I had classes only on Tuesdays and Thursdays and still managed to skip those. It was the best 6 day weekend ever.

I had a roommate in Sophomore year who unofficially broke Steve Francis' record for "Most Classes Skipped in a Semester" and still wound up with a 2.5.

I started in Electrical engineering (stayed in that for 2 yrs) and switched out to Informations Systems Mgmt (basically Computer Science w/a whole lot of Acctg, Econ, Statistics, and other math I could not pass right now, for $1B, even though I did then).

I feel like I was in most all the buildings, except for the cow area, and some women's only courses in one building. Spent equal time in old and new libraries. Old library was a very easy place to meet girls. Had friends in dorms on both sides of campus, in frats, and off campus near frats. People used to use the excuse that UMd was so large, and I thought so what, you are only in one place at one time and it's not like you have to charge completely across the campus in 10 minutes to get to your next class, like when you were in HS.

  • I might as well be skipping class as all I do is sit in the back and read these boards. I believe in learning through osmosis though
