Middle School/Jr. High School

OK, it is time to put a damper on things here. Did anyone have a great experience in middle school? If you were like me probably not.
Positives: sports - finally found out how good I was in sports.
Middle school girls - got my second big crush in middle school
Negatives - about everything else (mainly got into alot of fights in NE DC and in PGC)

Whenever I think back to middle school, it always turns into a 'Lord of the Flies' type daydream, so I think that about sums up my feelings on it.
I don't know what you mean, but it had the cadence of a joke.

Not sure how anyone could look back fondly to their middle school days. That's why it's the shortest tenure in all of your schools. Any more than 2 to 3 years of that BS would be quite damning to young psyches.
Im ready for aa 5th of vodica to end my feels.

For me it was K-4 Elementary, 5-8 Middle, and 9-12 HS.
And for kindergarten my parents sent me to a school outside my district where they had a full-day K option.

I was back in the days (late 70s/early 80s) when PGC was K-6 Elem, 7-9 JHS & 10-12 HS (yes, only 3 yrs of hs!). I assume they dont do that anymore.
I did get accepted to Roosevelt so went there as a 9th grader...

I hated middle school. I was short, my nice blonde hair from elementary school was turning red, and I wore glasses. Once word got out that I was good at soccer I was pretty much waking up every morning with 2 strikes.

I had K-3 elementary, 4-6 middle, 7-8 Jr HS, and 9-12 HS, all in separate buildings.
Middle School wasn't great, but you were starting to figure out girls, so it wasn't terrible.
Our last day of 8th grade (Jr Hs) it was raining like crap,and we all went out at lunch and got involved in a giant mud fight, everyone was covered head to toe in mud. We all got hauled into the cafeteria (except my buddies who lived close enough to run home) and got lectured by the Jr HS principal first, then the HS principal. The HS principal was really pissed, "you're not going to do this shit for the next four years", etc. One kid starting laughing and the principal walked over and popped him, hard. Knocked him down, stunned him, but didn't break anything. If that happened today the kid's parents would own the school system.

Elementary school was fun. High school was more work, but it came with more freedom (driving, dating, etc).
Middle school just sucked. 6th and 7th grade especially.

I met my arch nemesis in 7th grade, so that was nice. And yes, I still actively look up his facebook page a couple times a year to make sure that I'm pwning him in all categories of life. Suck it.

It could have been soul crushing given the big teeth, braces, huge glasses, awkward body, and bad hairstyle, but it wasn't really that bad.
I still retain many of those characteristics to this day.

I didn't mind it, due to weird school district changes I went to a different middle school than most of my elementary school classmates, which I liked(most of my good friends went to the same MS as me, I didn't care for most of the other people that didn't.) I liked having a schedule and going to meaningful classes instead of being herded around all day to learn how to write cursive and make an ecosystem out of a soda bottle. Socially it was ok. I think Middle School was the best pre-college school era for me actually, HS was ok but I was a huge nerd who played WoW all day after school so my social life sucked, elementary school was just really dull for me.

Middle school was 7th/8th grade for me. Outside of school those years were OK. I don't know that "figuring out girls" was that cool - I prefer actually having them figured out - but other than that it was fine.
But inside of school it was like being thrown into Thunderdome every day. 12-13 year old kids, including me at that time, are basically the lowest form of human life.

middle school was a blast. my friends and i dominated gym class, recess, the girls, and the books. the popular girls spent a whole year detailing journal entries in a composition book on us. on the last day of school, we stole it and spent the next summer lining up our options for the following year. every party ended with a fantastic game of spin-the-bottle.

Middle school was my transition from nerdy to trying and failing at impressing girls to popular, party guy...and it was a slow, painful journey. But it set me up for an epic 4 years of high school.

Nothing could be worse than if your chest just barely touched one of the opposing boobies and it went from 6 to midnight with the fury of ninja slash. I broke pairs of pants because of that.
