Just got 15 30s of Bud Light. Headed down to OBX tomorrow. The Cape-ites (sorry Paul) drinking their MD20/20s in the parking lot were super jealous

This and your previous post make me sad. You shouldn't ever buy a beer that they make commercials for. And yes, this means it is totally acceptable to buy Natty Light and PBR. Sam Adams can suck my balls. They had the rules changed so they can still be considered a craft beer. They are the Metallica of beer. And I like some Metallica, but I'd never pay full price for it.

I really don't want this to turn into the fast food thread, but you are really making a bad choice buying these big brands. They are more expensive and are in no way better quality and in many cases are inferior. If I go to a local bar such as Koopers or Waterfront Hotel, a bottle of Bud Light is about $3 where a pint of Heavy seas is $5, which actually gets you more alcohol for your dollar, and tastes 10X better. If you buy Bud, a portion of your money goes to InBev, some multinational corporation that is based in some tax shelter. If you buy Flying Dog, your money goes to Maryland residents who have kids who will be Maryland residents. Every time I buy a beer I drink it knowing that the people who produced it are somehow friends of mine, even if I haven't met them yet.

Was handed VIP tickets to a 3 day music festival (Rooster Walk) by a doctor who had something come up at the last minute. Imagine my surprise when I learned the VIP ticket included unlimited complementary beverages for the whole weekend. I'm going to have to pace myself.

Isn't this just so they can avoid being taxed into Bolivian? I believe "craft breweries" are taxed differently than the big boys.
And while I agree with your sentiment's on the big boys, there is certainly a place for the traditional American light lager. Like you though, I prefer something with a little more character.
