MAFIA GAME THREAD - DAY 2 ENDS AT 2:00 P.M. WEDNESDAY

  • I'm questioning rhtb&g now and why is Toogs so interested in being killed? Smiley may just have a busy week, but even when busy, he has seemed to play in the past? What to do?

    This was actually a poor play at this point to have the cop come out, because now the mafia knows who to avoid at night and doesn't get randomly blown up by the BG. Obviously, we couldn't have known that.

    Seriously??? Even I know Jtpterp made the right move by coming out. Especially since we nailed mafia day one.

    Its always a good move for a civ to be killed rather than investigated. If Toogs is a civ and we are contemplating investigating him and killing someone else. It would be in the best interest of the civs for Toogs to give himself up for the lynch rather than having an investigation wasted on him.

    We have 7 Unknowns:

    Baseball
    Toogs
    AST/Humphrey
    Amy
    Hammer
    Smiley
    RHTBG

    We get 3 lynches and at least 1 investigation (unless the BG plays with fire which I'm not opposed to). Each Night Kill also shrinks the pool of unknowns.

    In conclusion, civs are in good shape.

    I haven't really cleared anyone yet, are there any arguments that one of the unknowns is clean?

    If Mafia doesn't hit Hammer or the BG tonight, I think the game is mathematically over.

    Why/how would the bodyguard play with fire? The BG cannot protect themselves, so it is either protect the cop or protect the cleared civ (me). This post makes you look more shady in my eyes.

    I'm talking about the BG protecting someone in the group of unknowns. If the mafia wants to hit you we should let them (since you're not the BG). I highly doubt the mafia has the stones to actually target the cop tonight, but with our advantage, BG should probably play it safe and protect JTP.

    I would say not to go after Smiley today. I concur that Raisehigh & Bogart are the most likely mafia. I'm willing to follow toogs at this point and SWITCH VOTE TO BOGART.

  • The cop coming out was absolutely the right move. I'm not sure what RHTB&G is thinking.

    How is it that this is the first time that Amyeg has played (and certainly the first time she's played with me), but knows that even when I'm less active I'm still more active than now?

    Baseball seems to have a hard on for civs spending a vote on someone just because they are (admittedly, completely) useless rather than have the civs vote on who they think is most suspicious.

    For a good amount of chatter, there isn't a lot of incriminating posts going on which makes me think someone quiet might be the remaining mafia. I would suggest an investigation of Smiley.

    Sorry for my post before. My thought process was that if we had waited a day, we could have had the upperhand of hoping the bodyguard and last mafia collided on a hit. With the current set-up, the mafia knows who to avoid. That was all I was getting it.

    I don't see how my Hammer slip-up is some sort of huge mafia tell, only JTP (not the mafia) knows whether he actually is a civ or the BG.

    People have articulated the reason for voting for Bogart. No one has articulated a reason to vote for me other than a hunch and agreeing with others. Please, vote off Bogie (or someone else) and investigate me.
