Little Things That Irratonally Piss You Off (247 Version)

  • I wanted to get some tempura rolls from Whole Foods...I got there at 7:40

    sushi guy: sorry, we're closed
me: oh ok....what time do you close, 7:30?
sushi: no, we close at 8, but I've already started cleaning up

I started to pick him up by the neck and throw him into the flaming wok across from him.

WTF is the point of "we close at 8 but I'm useless after 7:40"? I'm talking to him 20 minutes before closing time and yet I can't get what I came for?

Oh, I feel ya. I'm just wondering what happened once you picked him up by his neck...

  • Stores that have those red and blue "OPEN" signs that they leave on all the time - even when every other light in the building is off. I think it should be fully legal for people to enter the stores by any means necessary if that sign is on.

  • People who still pay with checks at any retail location, especially a grocery store. Probably more symptomatic down here in FL cause of all the people > 80 years old.

Also, the word 'regime' in regards to any front office for a football team. If I hear the phase the Parcell's regime or the Sporano regime one more time I'm going to start punching babies.

I think the acceptable cut off age for groceries by check is probably 55-60 right now. My parents never use credit cards.

    Canyonerooooo

  • There's no acceptable cutoff age (maybe 70+ but I'm not willing to concede that), but it's something we have to live with.

  • M&T charges me 50¢ to use my debit...no charge to write a check. WTF

The thing that kills me about those commercials is that the URL is changed every time you see them. Like they're constantly being shut down and popping up with a different bogus URL like education4me21177.com

They do that as a way to know which commercials/advertisements get more people going to their site.

Even if they're the same exact commercial, word-for-word? That seems stupid.

Sorry, that wasn't clear. It's a time/channel thing. They want to know if the degenerates that stay up late or the degenerates that watch daytime court shows are more interested in learning things in their pajamas. If you find that stay at home moms who watch lifetime never go to the site, you can stop advertising there.

I read something about it a while ago but can't find the source now.

Jesus. That's not irrational at all. Its grounds for revolution. Fuck them. Take the power back.

Well then it makes me irrationally angry that they are doing it to be smart, not because they keep getting shut down.

  • I hate when I am in the office and someone turns to another person all excited and tells them some breaking news, when in fact that news is not so breaking.

    Example:

Setting: 2 minutes ago, Cubicle Village

Girl 1: Wildly swings around in wheely chair: "ZOMG Guess what?!?!"
Girl 2: Slower reaction turn in chair: "Heyyyy, what?"
Girl 1: "They JUST evacuated Ocean City!!!!!! Things are getting (awkward high pitched tone) crAAAzyyy"
Girl 2: "Whoa no way!!! That's nuts. Where are they all going."
Girl 1: "They have to leave"
    Girl 2: "Oh man"
