I got my first pair of forest green jorts in 5th grade, that I proudly wore with my "No Fear" shirt like twice a week. It was a good birthday that year.

Jorts were de rigeur in my hick Midwestern high school (circa 1993-1997). I packed a drawerful for college. Fortunately, I elected to wear khaki shorts on the first day of orientation. Another poor soul had worn his best set of jorts that day, and my new roommate (a preppy private school type) was appalled. Sotto voce, he exclaimed that he'd never seen such a thing, and how embarrassing it must be to have no sense of fashion or style.

I nodded vigorously, agreeing that it was unfortunate that the school even admitted such dumb rednecks that would wear jorts. Later that evening (while my roommate was at dinner), I packed all my pairs of jorts into a trashbag, snuck out of the room, and dumped them down the trash chute. I then skipped the next morning's orientation activities to purchase additional khaki shorts from the local Gap.

True story.

Which one is Tent?

I own jorts, I wear them. They are comfy and I dgaf. However, if I knew that my college roommate or whoever was appalled by my lack of fashion sense, I would have been hard-pressed not to have worn them all the time for effect. For the record, my college roommate was a hippy who never wore socks, he had the worst smelling shoes in the history of footwear (but that is another issue entirely...)

I wasn't making comparisons of relative comfort, I own khaki shorts and they are also comfy.

That has nothing to do with fashion, and more to do with the economic theory of normal vs. inferior goods.

I swear I don't think you are allowed to live in Florida if you don't own and wear jorts year-round.

I guess it's an OWG thing, but I'm not too careful anymore about the shorts I wear. I'm just happy I remembered to put something on over my underwear.

I think with every pair of jorts people should a complementary neck tattoo

Jorts and cutoffs are two different things. They are both awful, but not the same.

Don't flatter yourself. A distinction without a difference.
