  • i'm with kool on the bond girls but i'll go jane seymour number 1. she was so ridiculous in that movie. live and let die also has a classic line.

[Bond has just explained the first two Lover's Lessons to Solitaire]
Solitaire: Is there time before we leave, for Lesson number 3?
James Bond: [undressing] Of course. There's no sense going out half-cocked.

    2Sticks

    1. Best James Bond Movie My answer: The Spy Who Love me
Acceptable answer. Goldfinger, From Russia With Love and Casino Royale are also acceptable.

    2. Best Bond: My answer: Sean Connery
    Correct

    3. Best Bond Girl: My answer: Barbara Bach & Jane Seymour
    Lots of good answers here.

    4. Best Bond Bad Guy My answer: Franz Sanchez (Robert Davi)
Wrong. I'd go with Auric Goldfinger but Sanchez is clearly incorrect.

    5. Best Bond Theme Song: My answer: Licence To Kill - Gladys Knight
Not a bad song but there are many others that are better.

    6. Best Line in a James bond Movies My Answer: Do you expect me to talk. No Mr Bond. "I expect you to die"
    Good choice.

    7. Best Bond Opening Scene: My answer: The World is not enough
    Crack kills.

    Thanks for playing.

I was going to add that as a category but the answer was so obvious.

We're watching Die Another Day with the kids now and it really isn't very good. My 8 year old just asked what they were doing during the love scene with Halle as I'm yelling at my husband to fast forward. LOL

  • If you viewed the movie as approximating real life (rather than mocking it), then Daniel Craig and Sean Connery are the only choices for being licensed to kill.

Actually the funny thing is James Bond is really kind of a satire as British Intelligence when Ian Fleming was in it was filled with homosexuals. A portrayal in this vein can be read in John Gardner's 3 novels: Secret Generations, the Secret Houses, the Secret Families. Interestingly, Gardner was an official James Bond author.

  • Very pleased that some of the folks on this thread are giving props to Jane Seymour. She's 60 now and still hot.

  • I read every James Bond novel when they first came out when I was a kid, and I was always partial to Sean Connery as Bond. The movies actually stuck to the plot line of the books. Jane Seymour is/was fine, and I always liked Ursela Andress and that incredible rack, and the gal in From Russia With Love was hot, but all the Bond girls were hot.

Somewhat - a lot of the books have different "schemes" than the movies.

They add a lot of stuff when Connery quit doing Bond that what's always kind of cutesy particularly when Roger Moore did the role. Still I watched every one of the entire Series probably, and I think that all of the actors who played the role did a pretty good job with it.

He's fantastic. Casino Royale is easily a top 3 Bond film and probably my favorite to re-watch.
