How often do you text your SO?

  • Couple texts a day, otherwise gchat or video chat.

  • 5-10? I'm always careful to take forever to respond to a text so that way I'm not expected to reply fast enough for that number to ever get a chance to increase.

whoa. i do all of my non-phone communication through email. i basically never text. why text when you can email?

Because when you text someone you can expect they'll read it within 10 minutes in most circumstances. If you email someone they might not get back to you for hours(assuming they're not at their computer all the time.) Texting is also more conducive to conversation. Email is better for longer explanations of things.

  • 2 minimum. 30 if were taking about something funny at work or from going out in the weekend. If we don't talk on the phone in the day, there is always a text. I did just get married though

Smart phone, bro. E-Mailing and texting basically become the same thing, except E-Mailing has the advantage of being able to be done at your computer too.

One guy in the thread said he didn't own a cell phone.

I definitely admit they are convenient at times, but I've always hated talking on the phone, and I have problems letting a phone go unanswered, so I said F it. I don't want to be reached all the time, and I spend more than enough time in front of a computer everyday (might be the only person in IT that doesn't own one) already, so I need some disconnected time. I'm only 31 before the grandpa comments start.

I've probably sent 4 or 5 text messages in my life.

I don't know what you mean, but it had the cadence of a joke.

Unless, both of you have a smart phone. At that point, emails are akin to texting.

Anyway, about 3 times a day.

  • 31? No cell phone? Do you have friends? If you do, they hate you.
