atleast 1. I used to run 3 or more everyday, but it wore my shoes, then my knees down. I finally got around to seeing the podiatrist today so I might pick it back up, but as good as it feels to run, and as addictive as it is, doing it excessively can just be a bit too taxing on the body. I might try biking or swimming instead.

Last night I had a really good steak with mashed potatos and creamed spinach and some blackened scallops for an appetizer. I also had a beer with it....well two. Then I went home and finished Storm of Swords and was like OMFGWTFBBQ

For 10+ yrs ran 4.5 miles every 2 or 3 days and then a 6 to 10 mile run once a month. Then started mixing that up with hard biking and days I wasn't running or biking I'd try and do 30 mins on a stairmaster in the gym

Then blew my Achilles out followed by f'ing up my left knee bad. So 5 years ago joined a Masters Swim group where I go to swim practice/workouts 3 times a week (sometimes more, often times less). When I make it to the pool I do about 3200 meters each workout comprised of different strokes (medlies, different distances, sprinting and distance swimming). I highly recommend Masters swimming to anyone, who feels your body has had enough wear and tear from running. Plus you get the occasional hot body in a speedo in your lane!

When I run- 3-6/run. That is probably 3 days a week though. Way more fun to play tennis, or workout at the gym.

*I had to give up booze for the last +/- 5 weeks. Despite the misery of that, no shocker that my running has improved dramatically.

Yeah I also have Achilles issues, partial rupture down the center of the tendon a few years back. But I try to get in about 9-10 miles per week on the treadmill and then mix in walking on the off days. I live in a rather hilly area do its tough to run on the road with the Achilles issue.

WTF? Who does this?

They say you should walk at least half a mile everyday to keep your heart-rate up - I haven't done that regularly in almost 15 years, so I am at -2737.5 miles at this point.

run about 3 miles 2 times per week. Add in basketball and softball every week.
