Home Alone

My wife always wants to watch Home Alone and Home Alone 2 around Christmas.
Does the family ever find out about the Wet/Sticky Bandits or does Kevin somehow magically hide that from them?
Am I crazy for liking 2 better? Marv gets destroyed in 2. "Suck brick kid!"

I feel like word might spread around the neighborhood that so many houses were burglarized and vandalized. On the other hand, maybe everyone hates the McAllisters because their house is a freaking mansion on a block of normal looking houses and wouldn't talk to them about anything.

At the time, I really wanted to see Angels with Filthy Souls - I was so disappointed when I found it wasn't real.
BTW, Home Alone is on HBO on demand (ending tonight), and you can get Home Alone 2 on Netflix instant.

I never liked how Kevin wasn't brought up on charges. I understand he's defending his home but as some point you're just being cruel for cruel's sake. And I get that he's young too but still, he terrorized two guys who were just stealing a few thousand dollars worth of crap.

That always bugged me too. The nerd in me always wanted to write a law school exam where I just describe the events of Home Alone and ask the students to identify all of the legal wrongs done by Kevin.

of all the bonehead moves by Harry and Marv, trying to go across the rope to get to Kevin in the treehouse was the worst. Even if he didn't cut the rope on them, it would've given him a good minute or two to make a run for it.
and LOL at Mrs. McCallister for having to spend a whole ride to Chicago listening to polka with John Candy and only beating the rest of the family home by two minutes.

the prosecution could easily have sent him to Juvey given his past toothbrush shoplifting transgressions.

Also, that old guy definitely DID kill his entire family right? I think Kevin was just hallucinating a little bit there at the end due to an adrenaline high.

He most definitely killed them.
Also Kevin committed identity theft using his Mom's credit card in 2. He was worse than the Crips in the early 90s.

i think in the church when he tells Kevin about there being a lot of rumors about him and none of them being true, that he is talking about the ridiculous turning the bodies into mummies rumor, and not about the actual murders which he did commit.

"Kevin, I'm going to feed you to my tarantula"
Does anyone else have a big problem with this line? It comes when Kevin is remembering all the cruel things people have said to him the night before, at which point he realizes that it's a good thing that he "made his family disappear". But Buzz never said that! The one insult he had was "I wouldn't let you sleep in my room, IF YOU WERE GROWING ON MY ASS!". I think having Buzz say "Ass" twice was too much for the PG rating, so during the editing process they haled Buzz into the studio to record some new crappy insult and it left every eight year old viewer saying "when the f*** did he say that?"

How lazy were the police in this movie?
-Hey, this lady says she accidentally left her kid at the house, can you go check on him?
-I knocked on the door and no one answers, she's crazy
-Uh, I think she knows how many kids she has. You don't think that maybe the kid could be in the house, possibly dead from any one of the hundreds of household dangers lurking around every corner? He's eight years old. He could have drank drain-o, gotten bitten by a tarantula, broken his god damn neck while sledding down the steps! Oh, but you knocked so I guess that is that even though he could have found dad's gun and accidentally blown his brains out all over the bathroom mirror.
