That isn't a racial slur in many parts. Growing up in Arkansas, I've usually heard that term in reference to (usually white) Cajuns.

You know what's fucked up about Zimmerman, he kills the kid, and supposedly stands over him and then let's him lie face down in the grass. A decent person, shooter or not, would check if he was still alive. The video isn't conclusive about his injuries but they certainly don't appear as bad as intimated. He might not be lying 100% but I'm really doubtful he was completely truthful in his story. I'm really curious as to know the chronology that led up to him being cleared. If it was soon after the incident fir lack of evidence at the time, the question is whether or not the police work was thorough up to that point to consider all evidence. No toxicology test, no checking of martins phone records. Did they get lab results on the physical evidence already? I read that they had both men's clothes. Everyone is in CYA mode and it looks like the police are laying it on wolfingers staff.

All good points, but the problem here is going to be getting enough evidence to actually prove the case.

Playing this through in my head, I can't decide if this is a case where Zimmerman would be more or less likely to testify on his own behalf if this ever goes to trial.

Here's someone else that I find interesting. GZ knows the routine of calling 911, he knows the call is recorded. Who the heck talks like that during a recorded call? Made a derogatory slur, cursed again about getting away and then makes up some wild claim about someone being on drugs. He actually sounded like he was under the influence of something. The moment police listened to that tape they needed to call him in to answer more questions.

I'm under the I impression his counsel, Sonner was hired recently because he was clueless on some details just last week. I don't think he had counsel in early march but I'm not sure.

thanks for the clarification, it's the non-911 number handled by the 911 dispatcher. either way the call is officially recorded.

The police report said first aid was administered at the scene so if anyone is looking for a bunch of blood in the video you'll be disappointed.

here's a take from Zimmerman's dad...he claims the girlfriend made up her story.

"Robert Zimmerman also claims he doubts the account of the night from Martin's girlfriend, who claims she was talking with Martin on the phone before the incident.
"I don't believe that happened," Robert Zimmerman said. "I don't believe she was on the phone with him, and I find it very strange with the publicity involved... that all of a sudden, after three weeks, someone would remember that they were on the phone."

Yeah, he absolutely was on the phone with her prior to the attack. Her recollection of the events three weeks later are likely suspect (maybe someone should have talked to her the next day).

There is no blood on his shirt. There is no bruising on his head and face. His shirt is perfectly tucked in. He get's out of the car quite easily with his hands handcuffed behind him, after being in this "horrible fight".

In the police report it said that Zimmerman was given first aid by the Sanford Fire Dept. in the back of the police car. All you have to do is interview that SFD paramedic and ask what his injuries were.
