Game of Thrones Mafia - Civs + Sandor (jellis) win

  • When you play the game of thrones, you win or you die.

This is a non-traditional game, though people who have hidden aspects to their roles have been told in their description, so there shouldn't be too many surprises regarding your role.

For the beginners, you vote by bolding a name, or by putting three stars around it. http://wiki.mafiascum.net/index.php?title=Main_Page is a good general overview. I will answers whatever questions I can.

There is one mafia. There are three independents. One can win with the civs, whereas the other two must be killed.

The civs win when all mafia and those two independents are eliminated.
The independents have their own win conditions, which are unknown to the civs, but trigger when the entire mafia is eliminated and there are few civs left remaining.

The general rules are the same. 10 mins for OT, which I will RNG if no one is killed. Night may take longer because there are so many moving pieces. ALWAYS make sure to check your PMs.

    Players:

Raise - Viserys Targaryen, mafia, lynched day 9
Viserys was the last living male member of the Targaryen dynasty. In order to retake the Throne, he sought to marry off his sister, Daenerys, to Khal Drogo, in exchange for his army. Because Viserys is essentially powerless by himself and needs allies, and most specifically, an army, you get to search once a night for Khal Drogo. If you find him before he solidifies himself as a civ, he will join the mafia.
Viserys is also the second member of the mafia who is a power broker and a contender for the Iron Throne. If Viserys takes the throne, other abilities will become unlocked.
(WAY TO ACQUIRE THE THRONE) – Viserys needs an army to take the throne, thus in order to secure the throne, he needs to have found Khal Drogo and secured his allegiance, and therefore also secured an army to conquer with.
(POWER) – Viserys is sadistic, as befits his late father’s legacy. If you “wake the dragon” while Viserys sits atop the throne, it is likely such behavior will not be tolerated. Anytime you are involved in the lynch of a civilian, while you are King, your mafia will be granted an extra hit that night.
Viserys is incredibly paranoid about people preventing him from getting what is rightfully his, and is especially bitter at the Lannister family who was largely responsible for displacing his father. Therefore, in order to wield any real power as the King, you must eliminate the other contender to the throne within your own mafia. While Joffrey lives, you may sit the throne, but you cannot use the power it grants you.

JPeterman - lynched day 2, Dany's Dragons, civ
Dany’s dragons are both fierce, and fiercely attached to their mother, Daenerys. Because of your intimate relationship with Dany, you will be granted her ID to start the game, as well as the knowledge that she is the Cop.
If Dany takes the Throne, there will be another part of your role which unlocks.
(HIDDEN) – you will be granted a vig hit, and be able to communicate with Dany.

Titan - killed night 2 by Sandor, mafia/Littlefinger
The best self promoter in all of Westeros, Littlefinger came from nothing but worked his way up to become the Master of Coin and have a seat on the Small Council. Though Littlefinger is part of the mafia, he always has his own agenda. The mafia in this instance is not exactly composed of great thinkers worthy to challenge Littlefinger. Tywin is the biggest threat to discover his conniving ways and remove him from power. Not willing to tempt this, your role requires Tywin’s death to win. To be clear, you win WITH the mafia, and have the same win conditions, however, in order to win at the end game, Tywin must be dead, or you lose.

You may send one message to me a night which I shall pass on to the character of Ned Stark. Poor Ned should never listen to you, but you may be persuasive in your messages and state whatever you’d like. It will not be said who the messages come from, but Ned knows that someone is messaging him at night to “provide assistance”.

JTP - Jaime Lannister, mafia, killed night 6 by Mel
The Kingslayer is considered to be one of the most fearsome warriors in all of Westeros. Even when he was defeated by Robb Stark’s army, Jaime tried to cut his way through to Robb in an attempt to end the war, killed all of those around Robb, and only was defeated because his sword got stuck in a corpse.
Jaime can be, however, distracted by his twin sister, Cersei, who he has an “abnormal” relationship with.
When Cersei dies, Jaime’s attention will be turned entirely to his military objectives and you will be granted a one shot unblockable kill due to your immense skill with a blade.

    SLT

terpsfan22 - Davos Seaworth, civ, killed night 4
Davos essentially serves as Stannis’s hand of the king. Davos was once a smuggler, but now faithfully serves Stannis.
You will be given the name of who plays Stannis to start the game. Since you have stated your willingness to lay your life on the line in his service, you have the option to protect Stannis every night. If you elect to do so, and he is targeted, you will die in his stead. Doing this may have repercussions. Do you trust Stannis enough to give your life for his?

historicus - Joffrey Baratheon, mafia, killed night 7
The petulant king of Westeros. You start the game on the Iron Throne. As you’ve pointed out, the king may do as he likes.
Joffrey has control of the Kingsguard and as such, you may deploy them twice at night during the game, WHILE you sit on the throne, to roleblock anyone in the game. Their night action will be entirely prevented as a result of your command.

Hoop - Varys, civ, killed night 4 by Mel
Varys plays the Game of Thrones possibly at a higher level than any of the major players involved in the game. He claims to “serve the realm”. Does he? Only his little birdies know for sure. As the most connected man in Westeros, Varys gets access to information not available to any other player. By night 3, one of your little birdies will be the moderator. Submit to me a question which I can answer in the form of yes or no, and you will receive an answer. After night 3, you get one more question you can ask. This time you get to unleash it unto the dead chat, and I will report back to you the consensus answer from dead chat. These are night moves and can only be used at night.

Hooligan - Khal Drogo, mafia, lynched day 7
Drogo is a legendary Dothraki warrior, who appears at first in the story to be a savage, but quickly wins viewers to his side. He marries Daenerys Targaryen after brokering a deal with her brother, Viserys, in exchange for his army’s support of Viserys claim to the Iron Throne.
You are afforded the knowledge in this game that the two people who offer you connections to Westeros, Dany, and Viserys, are in the game, on opposite factions. Both have a way of securing your allegiance. You start as a civ, but can be recruited by the mafia. You cannot hint at your role. If you are recruited by the mafia, you will join the mafia. If you are not, or are secured by the other party, you will remain a civ, and have their win condition.

Smiley - killed night 1 by mafia, Jorah Mormont, civ.
Jorah was exiled from Westeros. Since he was caught selling poachers, Jorah has been working tirelessly to redeem himself, and essentially serves as Dany’s bodyguard. In an effort to redeem himself in the eyes of the rest of Westeros, Jorah has decided to take a lot on his own shoulders. In this game, you may, every night, REDIRECT all night action from a targeted individual and onto yourself. This is applicable for hits, investigations, etc. You send me the name of a player, and everything that is done to that person will be done to you instead. This can be very beneficial, or impact the town cause, so choose carefully if you wish to be redeemed.

7erps - Syrio Forel, civ, killed night 10
“And what do we say to the God of Death? Not today.” Syrio has a way with avoiding the God of Death, even to the point where many believe he didn’t actual die when being attacked in season 1. You will get to save two people from the God of Death in this game, by pardoning their lynch. If you are going to do this, please give me a bit of a heads up if possible (if you’re considering it). I will normally give approximately 3-5 minutes after a lynch to reveal the death, so you must inform me before or during that period if you’re saving someone.

Syrio is also a legendary badass, defeating numerous guards with only a wooden sword. You be able to save yourself from being killed twice, by PMing me any night and asking to remain invisible that night from the Grim Reaper. All hits against you when you are being protected will fail.

parlay - Margaery Tyrell, civ, killed night 3
Margaery Tyrell married Renly Baratheon in an attempt to become queen of Westeros. She is quite pragmatic and ambitious. As she explains to Littlefinger, she doesn’t want to be a queen, she wants to be THE queen. She is adept at playing the game of thrones, and has become so by watching the maneuvering of others. Here, each night, you get to select a player to watch. You will be informed who, if anyone, visits them in the night.
You are able to communicate with your brother, Loras, outside of the game.

FTN - Tywin Lannister, mafia godfather, lynched day 5
The incredibly pragmatic, clever, and occasionally brutal patriarch of the Lannister family, Tywin is often considered the richest and most powerful man in Westeros. As such, you are the leader of the mafia and the Godfather. Investigations regarding your alignment will come back NOT MAFIA, and you will have the final call on all hits while you live.

skins - Ned Stark, backup cop, killed night 3
Ned Stark abandoned his post as Lord of Winterfell in season 1, and went south with Robert Baratheon, to serve as hand of the king and Robert’s right hand man. However, Ned could never quite figure out who to trust, and who to ignore, and he paid for this with his life. In this game, you too, will be second in command, serving as the back-up Cop. If/when the real cop dies and you are still alive, you will take up in their stead, getting an investigation a night to find mafia. These results will come back mafia or not mafia.
Ned constantly had people in his ear offering “advice”. You will also be getting advice here from a person who claims to be providing assistance. Their advice could be to your benefit or detriment, so decide wisely what to listen to.

Da - Balon Greyjoy, lynched day 8, mafia
Balon is, generally speaking, a curmudgeonly old bastard. You are encouraged to act miserable towards any and everyone this game. You also must include the word “iron” in a post a day.
Balon is concerned that his son, Theon, has lost backbone after spending time with the Starks, and that his true allegiance lay elsewhere. To ensure you are best prepared prior to battle, you get to twice at night “investigate” a person’s allegiance. A very short description of that person’s powers will be revealed to you in the mafia chat.

Toogs - Barristan Selmy, civ, hit night 8
Widely considered the most honorable and respected man in Westeros, Barristan has loyally served in the Kingsguard for the majority of his life, protecting the king without question. Though Joffrey cast him out, Barristan remains a kingsguard at heart. In this game, there are a few important individuals vying for the Iron Throne. If any are targeted at night (outside of Joffrey, due to your anger regarding him ousting you) while they are on the Throne, you will sacrifice yourself for them and die in their stead.

    damo

Duff - Gregor Clegane, killed night 4 by Sandor, mafia
The Mountain that Rides is a towering, savagely sadistic enforcer who is frequently deployed by Tywin to do Tywin’s dirty work. Because of your brute strength, you cannot be killed at night, except if your brother, Sandor, targets you.

    Hammer

jellis - Sandor Clegane exits the game victorious after killing Gregor
The Hound describes himself as the angriest person in Westeros. He is deeply bitter, cynical, violent, and consumed with a burning desire to kill his brother, Gregor, who maimed him as a child. Sandor begins the game as an independent, firing a hit a night in an attempt to kill his brother. If you successfully kill Gregor at night, you will be removed from the game victorious. If you Gregor dies while you are living, your unlimited vig hits will be removed and you will become a normal citizen with their win condition.
You are encouraged to post with a nasty attitude, since you did, after all, have half of your face burned to a crisp.
    *last aspect of role withheld

terrapinfanman - Cersei Lannister, lynched day 4, mafia
Cersei was the queen to Robert Baratheon, and the mother of Joffrey ‘Baratheon’. She serves as the Queen Regent. She was able to consolidate power for her son by essentially framing Ned Stark such that it seemed to many that he was trying to seize the throne. As Cersei stated, “power is power”, and as Cersei in this game, your power will be to select one person a night to frame. Each night if that person is investigated, they will turn up mafia.

    gsterp

Knight - White Walkers, indy, lynched day 3
From the very first shot of the show, it became clear to viewers and readers that you were the “big bad” on GoT. Dismissed by most as simple rumor mongering, you are able to quietly amass power north of the wall.
In this game you are similarly dismissed as a threat early on. The first four nights, you are immune to being night killed. Furthermore, because your victims regularly are reanimated and added to your ranks, the first four nights you will be given the option to recruit someone. 14 of the 33 other players in the game are recruitable. If you recruit one, they will maintain their abilities, but will win with you and not the town. Each player you recruit, though, will take away a night kill option (so, you have 4 attempts to recruit OR four kills, for each recruit attempt you use, you lose the option to kill someone later). If the player you attempt to recruit is not recruitable, this still counts as an attempt and will subtract a vig hit from your arsenal.
If all of the mafia are eliminated, you will receive a hit a night.

ryala - Robert Arryn, mafia, killed night 6 by Mel
“I want to see the bad man fly!” When he isn’t disturbing suckling from his mother’s breasts, young Robert is petulantly demanding the death of others; Joffrey would be proud of such early developed sadism.
The first post of each round, you are to demand someone’s death in all caps. If the person you demand to die is lynched two times (i.e. if the person you demand to die is killed day 2, and then another day 5), your mafia will be given an extra hit that night.

Twigga - fell in a hole and died, Jon Snow, civ
    Role Withheld

QT - killed night 1 by Sandor, Daenerys, Cop/Powerbroker.
“I will take what is mine”. Daenerys repeatedly states throughout the book series and TV show that she is the rightful ruler of Westeros. However, in order to actually take the throne she will need to oust her enemies first, and what better way to do that than to be the COP and to investigate their alignment to see if they support her bid? You will receive an investigation a night to find MAFIA. Investigations will come back MAFIA or NOT MAFIA.
You are a power broker and contender for the throne. If you take the Iron Throne, additional role details will become applicable. You can, however, be unseated even if you take it.

(WAY TO ACQUIRE THE THRONE) – After you have three successful investigations which come back mafia, you will take the Throne.
(HIDDEN POWER) – Dany also seems rather sure that she would be a competent and just ruler, but ruling Westeros may be more difficult than she had imagined. If you take the throne, every round a civilian is lynched during the day, you will receive no night investigation since you are clearly leading your people astray.
**Two other hidden powers which can not be revealed yet.

gotech - Brienne, civ, killed night 6
One of the most honorable people in Westeros, Brienne is fierce and loyal. She began season 2 guarding Renly, and is now in the process of protecting Catelyn Stark. Brienne is known for being loyal to a specific person, and that is no different here. At any point in the game you may submit to me the name of one player. That player will survive ALL night action while you are at their side. When you die, your protection is removed.

evo - Tyrion Lannister, civ, hit night 4
Tyrion is the most functional member of his dysfunctional family. He’s a good judge of character and has quite a gift for gab. Lets see how well you can judge character in this game. You get to select a person a night, and their power will be amplified. The night AFTER you target a person, they will get an extra use of their power (so, if you target the cop, they will get two investigations the following night; conversely, if you target someone used by mafia to hit that night, the following night they’ll get another hit). You cannot target the same person consecutively. You must also have at least three rounds by the end of day 5 in which you post a minimum of 5 times a day.

Otto - Jaqen H'ghar, independent, lynched day 10
Jaqen is introduced to the story after being saved by Arya. He is incredibly mysterious, and is, at the very least, a master assassin. Though in the show it states that Jaqen is a servant of the “red god”, in the book, he worships the god of many faces. He is quite adept at changing his appearance in order to accomplish his tasks. You are an independent in this game, and, will use your abilities regarding your appearance to acquire other abilities. Each night, you get to submit to me the name of one player (you can only use each player once). That night, you will gain whatever their ability is, and be able to use it that night only however you’d like. Some players, obviously, have no specific night ability, and thus, neither will you that night.
Furthermore, Jaqen owes a debt to Arya, and is interested in keeping her safe. You get to search for Arya once each night. If you find her, you will add her as a teammate who you can communicate with, and she will have an ability you may find helpful. You must kill all mafia and independents, and have 3 or fewer civs left to win. (2 if you recruit Arya).

tcc - Theon Greyjoy, civ traitor, lynched day 6
Theon has been a man torn between two worlds, the Starks who raised him as their ward, and his estranged family. In season 2, Theon abandons Robb’s cause, though he had sown to serve him and viewed him as a brother. This betrayal took Robb by surprise. Here it will appear you are town aligned, but you will win with the mafia. You will be given the mafia to start the game. To try to finally convince someone you’re on their side, you will be able to give me two words a night, which I will convey to the mafia via their chat.

seanj - Stannis Baratheon, civ/powerbroker, killed night 5
The rightful heir to the throne as season 2 begins. Stannis has the best claim, but is a rigid man who nobody likes. He also employs a priestess, Melisandre, who seeks to bring a foreign religion to Westeros.
You begin the game with no power, since few people respect or support your claim.
You are a power broker and contender for the throne. Though you have no power, that will change if you take the Iron Throne. You can, however, be unseated even if you take it.
Requirement: you are curt and to the point. You must correct at least one person a day who says something which you view as incorrect. You must also claim two separate rounds to be of great importance (in life, mafia, or anything).
(WAY TO ACQUIRE THE THRONE) – If Melisandre uses one of her vig hits to kill one of Robb/Joffrey/Renly (your main threats),OR if Davos dies protecting you at night.
(HIDDEN POWER) – Stannis is able to acquire power because of his belief in two people: Davos, and Melisandre. If you take the throne, you get to communicate with each outside of the game. Furthermore, being King legitimizes those around you and provides a boon for their power. While you are king, Melisandre’s vig hits are only processed if they target non-civs, AND Davos’s power is upgraded into being your personal BG, and he takes whoever targets you with him while you sit on the throne.
If one or both are dead, you will be given one protection which allows you to survive the first hit against you due to your cautious nature.

bigku - killed night 8, civ
The Red Priestess, Melisandre is a controversial character who wants nothing more than to add converts to worship her God, R’hllor. She believes Stannis is someone to fulfill an ancient prophecy, and will do whatever it takes to put him on the throne (yes, including birthing Shadow Babies).
Because of your willingness to get your hands dirty, you get an unlimited number of vig hits. The night is dark and full of terrors – if your vig hits hit certain targets, there is a chance to bring some light to this dark world.

bogie - Loras Tyrell, civ, hit night 9
Loras Tyrell is Renly’s love interest, a renowned Knight, and brother of Margaery Tyrell. You are deeply committed to Renly, perhaps even moreso than Margaery was. If Renly is lynched, you will use your skills to take out your anger immediately upon the character who was the deciding vote in the lynch (regardless of their alignment).
You and your sister plotted to put Renly on the throne, and thus will be able to communicate from day 1 outside of the thread.

redwing - Robb Stark, civ/powerbroker, killed night 3
King in the North! Robb Stark begins season 2 waging a war to attempt to protect the North from the Lannisters and to avenge his father’s death.
You begin the game with no powers, as you must prove your worth through battle.
You are a power broker and contender for the throne (though you claim you don’t want it). Though you have no power, that will change if you take the Iron Throne. You can, however, be unseated even if you take it.

You take the throne if you kill mafia in OT, or if you're in a vote block which kills Joffrey Baratheon.
(HIDDEN) – Robb is out to protect the Stark family. Though the Starks are scattered to start season 2, if you take the throne, you will have vanquished your enemies and will be able to unite your family. You will be able to send me a message a night as the King, and I will pass it along to remaining members of the Stark Family who are alive. As the Stark protector, you will serve as a BG for any of your family members. If any are targeted at night while you sit on the throne, you will give up your life to save them, while also killing whoever targeted them at night.
Also, it seems like Robb, being from the North, would actually consider the Night’s Watch warnings regarding the White Walkers if he were the king. Therefore, you get an investigation a night while on the throne to find white walkers.

In this game, there is the potential for different people to sit on the Iron Throne, which will alter some characters within the game. EVERYONE should have received a PM. If you did not, let me know immediately.

Mafia has been given safe claims*.

Joffrey Baratheon is the current King of Westeros. Day 1 ends at 10AM and begins now. Winter is coming.
