I heard it's supposed to be a slightly warmer fall into December, but January/February are supposed to be brutal. Apparently the Mid-Atlantic south to the Florida panhandle is supposed to get blitzed by snow this year (Farmer's Almanac prediction IIRC).

I've heard when shit tons of acorns are down, it means a rough winter. Something about nature providing now for the squirrels and such.

I've never seen so many acorns.

Holy smokes, that is so weird. This morning walking to the metro i was looking at all the acorns on the ground and was thinking i never remember there being this many acorns. Cool theory with the squirrels, makes sense.

Supposed to be a cold and snowy winter, possibly on the extreme side, but it's still too far out in my mind to make any crazy predictions. I want to see what pattern sets up going into December before I start drawing big conclusions.

also read when spiders build big webs its a sign. Like the acorns, I have never seen spiders this big and plentiful.

Hoy shit, do you live in my neighborhood? I was going to start a thread about big spiderwebs everywhere but didn't because it sounded crazy.

I think it's just the abundance of stink bugs. They are getting big and fat on those suckers. But I do like the theory however.

regional, I mean it's a new sensation across the region. ergo we don't need to live in the same neighborhood. I hike and walk dogs in various places and the webs are outstanding everywhere. I have some pics that would make raise wet his diaper.
