  • I'm working on mine tomorrow. Down to one hour, thirty two minutes. First 50 minutes are in Los Angeles getting the original score. Front end is awesome. The ending is awesome. That 1:15 in lull is keeping me up at night.

  • Do you do any narration?

    NOD6216

  • None. That costs extra.

Steve Wiebe is King of Kong once more.

    HumphreyBogart

  • What was the movie Wiebe was in recently as a character's significant other? Four Christmases?

It was totally random. I turned to my wife and said "Hey that's Steve Wiebe!"

    She was a bit confused.

  • EAM, what is your documentary about? (If it isn't a secret.)

This. I've been wanting to ask but didn't want to look like a n00b.

The short description is documenting a number of football players as they make the transition from college to (hopefully) the NFL.

  • This week "The Other City" is playing at E Street theaters. Its fantastic. I think it only plays this week though

  • Watched 180 South the other night and absolutely loved it, plus the music is perfect...highly recommend

People that don't like nature/adventures/being awesome may not enjoy it though

  • Documentary is video complete. About to be shipped out for scoring and mixing. :hammertime:

    TRT: 1:32.

  • That's awesome, can't wait to see it.

Over the last two weeks I watched "The Bridge" and "This Film is Not Yet Rated"

I had similar feelings as EAM on the Bridge. They carried Gene's story so long that it got to the point where you just wanted him to jump. Then when you realize that they captured his jump perfectly and that's why he's the "star" of the movie, it's kinda disgusting.

This Film... was pretty good, I felt it cherry picked movies to help prove it's point while ignoring movies that showed the MPAA being fairly reasonable. I was interesting to learn how secretive the organization was and how they break all of their self imposed rules though.

Also watched the 30 for 30 on George Steinbrenner. I hate the Yankees but really enjoyed that film.

  • Attention whoring bump.

Composer is working on the music for my documentary. Last night, I had a friend over to help me load Final Cut Pro on my computer. While we sat and waited, I showed him portions of documentary, including the end. He said he had goose bumps. That's with no music and he's not a bull shitter, so that's cool.

I have someone shopping it around and we're getting some decent responses but right now, we need a groundswell of buzz. I need to show the potential for bringing in an audience so I need your help.

If you are Facebook person, search "Late Rounders." I just created a page. It is raw and not a whole lot of content right now. Periodically, I'll add more video to the site. Bottom line, I need people clicking on it. So do a brotha a solid and "like" that page for me.

Another question: If we were to coordinate a "premiere" in the DC area, would any of you go? I mean, it's football related and if we did it at a place like Arlington Cinema and Drafthouse, there'd be beer. Beat that combo. My thought is doing it the weekend of the Pro Bowl, between the conference championships and the Super Bowl.

    Thoughts?

  • That'd be my first real board outing, but I'd go.

Besides having season tix with Mudcats and finding out we're randomly sitting behind OrangeTerrapin.

Heck yeah, I would go. I'm going to check it out on Facebook.

I want to help a fellow Hokie out. But I'm also not finding it (unless I'm doing something completely stupid...which is highly likely). You got a link?

Right now, just the same ole same ole. We have a few 30 second promos that we will be unveiling soon. The structure of the doc is the entire first half is prep for draft day. The whole second half is the draft itself. We're trying not to reveal much of the draft day footage but we will be releasing some snippets.

  • I saw Dark Days and gave it an incomplete because I turned it off after 30 minutes. The concept is interesting as hell, looking into the lives of vagrants who make their homes under the NY streets in train tunnels, etc. It should have been interesting but it just became an endless string out of vignettes of homeless people who weren't altogether compelling. Too many characters, none of which fleshed out. No real storylines.

    Pass.

A major conflict occurs with probably 30 minutes left IIRC, so you should probably finish.
