Django Unchained

  • Could not find another post dedicated to it..but the trailer looks great...

    Sam Jackson, Dicaprio, Waltz, etc....

Looks like Tarantino has another hit on his hand (well, as big of a hit as he gets)

  • Dicaprio looks like he had a lot of fun in that role. I don't really remember him ever playing the villain so this should be different. And awesome

If you're so smart, why aren't you rich?

  • It's going to be difficult to hide my boner for this movie for six months.

  • Apparently Tarantino specifically wrote Django for Will Smith, Smith's agent and everyone basically begged him to do it, and Smith refused. He makes some really bad movie choices.

  • I'll be pretty surprised if this isn't my favorite movie ever.

  • Hunger Games, Avengers, Prometheus, Amazing Spiderman, Bourne Legacy, Dark Knight Returns, Skyfall (Bond movie), Looper, Django Unchained, Lincoln, The Hobbit...

LOL at other years. Epic movies going HAM in 2012.

Too controversial. Will doesn't do controversial. Never has, never will. Look at his IMDB and find something remotely edgy. And if you say Ali, we're dueling at dawn.

  • I understand the reasoning, but it's still dumb, especially at this point in his career where he broke a 4 year hiatus to do MIB3.

is Looper supposed to be that good? seems like a run of the mill scifi film to me.

I cant argue with the films Will Smith has made to this point but his upcoming projects are just a bunch of lazy paydays

I just saw Joseph Gorden-Levitt and sci-fi and assumed great until proven otherwise.

Also, Django Unchained reminds of a better, full-length version of Chappelle's Player Haters traveling through time.

Lincoln, Gatsby, Django, and the hobbit all come out in December. Going to be a ridiculous month.

  • I really need to read the Hobbit. I just finished LOTR for the first time this week and I'd like to read the Hobbit before seeing the movies.

    1982 LOL at 2012:

    Conan The Barbarian
    Rocky 3
    Blade Runner
    E.T.
    Poltergeist
Star Trek - Wrath of Khan
    An Officer And A Gentleman
    The Thing
    Tron
    The World According to Garp
    Fast Times At Ridgemont High
    Night Shift
Mad Max - The Road Warrior

That said, looking forward to Django. Also would argue Six Degrees of Separation (the movie that arguably proved Will Smith's acting chops) was a bit edgy.

Umm Hunger Games was at best mediocre, spiderman looks terrible, wtf is looper? Bourne Legacy is a big TBD.

  • Also Samuel L should be playing the TITLE role haha...this movie looks awesome but for some reason I just don't like Jamie Foxx (even though he's good a lot of the time, like in Any Given Sunday and Horrible Bosses) I just don't like him.

No matter what he does, I can't stop seeing him as the goofball on In Living Color.

  • Will Smith is such a fucking pussy. He would have absolutely killed it. Instead, Jamie Foxx might be ruining it for me, as great as it looks. He's not a bad actor, I just really dislike him.

Jamie Foxx IS a bad actor.

  • Any Mandingos see this? I can't believe there were 2 scenes where I legit laughed out loud with the whole audience.

I actually enjoyed it a lot. Kill bill meets Roots meets Inglorious Basterds meets unforgiven

Oh, abd Leo and Samuel L Jackson were on point as usual.

  • With the weather so awesome out this week we are off this afternoon to see this.. I am pretty much committed to every movie done by Tarantino and the Cohen Brothers. Pulp Fiction is in my top 10 and Jackie Brown does not get nearly enough love.

    DarrellGreenFan

  • I don't blame Will Smith at all for not wanting to do this. Spike Lee isn't going to see it, and that's good enough for me. I really look forward to a minstrel show being the top movie for next summer.
