You keep blaming the democratic party for the budget problems and I just wanted to remind you that Al Gore campaigned on taking the surplus of Bill Clinton and using it to pay down the federal debt. George W. Bush alternately, argued that we should take the surplus and use it to do a massive tax cut, the vast majority of which was targeted to the wealthiest Americans. When confronted by the Treasury Secretary about the possibility of exploding the deficit, Dick Cheney gave a pretty good summation of where the Bush administration stood: "You know, Paul (Treasury Secretary), Reagan proved deficits don't matter," he said, according to excerpts. Cheney continued: "We won the midterms (congressional elections). This is our due." To blame this on the democrats is a convenient bit of revisionist history. Or as fox news would say it: "a fact".

Do you know who passes budgets in this country? Well, in those days when budgets were considered important, anyway.
