Speed limit in New York should only be 5 mph. After all a lot of pedestrians and car drivers getting hurt create a strain on health care.

Don't forget air quality. Cigarette smoke outside is obviously a huge health hazard that Bloomberg has eliminated, but car exhaust is pretty bad too.

Where do you draw the line? Are you saying that we should never be allowed to drink soda after all that is the healthiest solution. Once again why are cigarettes even legal in NYC. Should we just live our lives wrapped in plastic bubbles and not take any risks at all?

I wasnt even really comparing them I was just pointing out the hypocrisy of some people when it comes to the government telling you want you can and cannot do with your own body.

One involves being for government intervention into an issue of personal health, and the other involves being AGAINST government intervention into an issue of personal health. The only reason you can't get past the comparison is because the nasty word "abortion" is there.

as for traffic, Bloomberg tried to implement "Congestion Pricing" whereby all cars entering Manhattan during peak times would be charged a toll ($8 I believe). It got shot down by politicking at the state level. I was totally for it except I'd make the toll $50
.
