I enjoy viper threads where you have to figure out what was in the deleted posts that got everyone so pissed off.
This is correct, though I greatly prefer the Lowcountry beaches/islands.

Schools that have never made the NCAA Tournament — the 2014 edition http://wp.me/plDgR-1WQ
As much as I like Edisto, et al, I'm seriously falling in love with Pawleys. The landowner where I hunt always has us over to his beach house. I seriously feel like I'm on vacation 35 mins from my house. I take my kayak out in the creeks and I may as well be in the keys. With cloudy water. I don't even need one of the 8 br behemoths, just a cottage would be fine.
Myrtle Beach has gotten way to commercial and touristy the last 10-15 yrs. We have a place in N. Myrtle Beach/Cherry Grove area right next to Possum Trot Golf Course. We love it especially in Fall and Winter. My father in law used to bitch about both bike weeks, but then it became normal happenstance to him. The Sea Captain's House in MyrtleBeach oceanfront is a very good restaurant. Killer She Crab Soup. Rick's Cafe in Surfside was a happening late night spot a few yrs. back when I could still get my groove on. Jamaica Joe's in N. Myrtle used to be good back in the day along with the Spanish Gallion. (I could have went home one night with Miss Bikini Wahini there, but my morals took over and I told her I was married. She was 19 and I was 34. My loss I guess.)
I used to own a place at Golf Glen Villas. Truth about Sea Captains. My faves are Parsons Table, Villa Romana, Drunken Jacks, and I love Prossers for a gut bomb of BBQ and sides. I like Horry's for oysters.
Is your place in a gated community? I'm almost positive my buddy's parents house is in the same hood. It was in N Myrtle/Cherry Grove and there was a golf fairway in his backyard
Do you duck hunt, turkey hunt, deer hunt,or all three? My 16 yr. old son has become "joe Outdoorsmen" the last 2 yrs. whenever he's not golfing or playing football. He's going somewhere down in the lowcountry to Turkey or Duck hunt soon.
Yep. Golf Glen Villas. Right across from the Little League Fields and B-ball courts. My father in law died of ALS two and a half yrs. ago and we sold that place along with our partners.
We are out of Golf Glen Villas now,but we share a duplex around the corner from there with 5 other families. Take turns and all that.
Did any of use guys ever eat breakfast at Hoskins in Ocean Drive/Cherry Grove area. We used to see Vanna White in there some. I think she has a house still right up the street from there.
I hunt all three, although I only " successfully" hunt deer and ducks so far. Your son will be turkey hunting, ducks are Nov-Jan. I hunt down in Andrews.
I think ole Vanna spends her Grand Strand time in Debordieu these days. My friend's college gf's parents had a house in there and ho-lee crap it's crazy.

Actually, it was the Sheraton, which was severely damaged by hurricane Irene later that summer and has yet to re-open...
To chill with this dude. Duh!

Bojangles, it's Bo time!
I get to Pawleys anytime there is a south swell, because it breaks better there, and has almost no tourist traffic. My wife and son love it because they have almost the whole beach to themselves. Like you said i feel like i am on a mini vacation from the Garden Cities/Surfside Beaches of the strand.
I was using a little hyperbole to pull on Viper's chain.
I'm very familiar with pawley's island but that isn't Myrtle.
You can spend the night in a nice part of town but you can't avoid the jorts. Sorry, I just don't find it to be a "resort" kind of town. There are many other places in SC I'd rather go.
Keep going a little father south on 17 past Drunken Jacks and there is a place called Bliss attached to the Inlet Sports Lodge and it is amazing. It not a family place and it is not cheap, but it is fantastic food and the fish is brought in daily. During the right times of year they have a few spear fisherman bring them hognose snapper, and other fish that are not normally on a menu but are some of the best fish out there. Or if you are into Thai try Blue Elephant Thai Cuisine which is almost across the street from Bliss in what looks like a run down blue building on the outside, but it is nice inside.
Also if you have not made it to Frank's out back in Pawleys yet you need to try that too. Not to be confused with Frank's which sits in front of it. It is another great date place too and tucked away.
haha. Ironically most locals go to Maryland Fried Chicken down here not Bojangles that is more for tourists or Bo Berry Biscuits.
My second or third date with my wife was at FOB.
Edit- FOB was third date. Second was horseback riding in little river at Inlet Point stables, which is one of my favorite places in Horry co. Untouched maritime forest, deserted beach, and panoramas of undeveloped LR inlet tidal flats.
Need some advice/recommendations please. I'm headed to my brother's bachelor party on Wednesday through Sunday in Myrtle. We're playing golf Friday and Saturday and eating dinner at RIOZ one night.
Any suggestions for bars (besides Broadway bars), strip clubs, restaurants, or other places to hit up after we get off the golf course?
Appreciate any advice.
Check out this site for some good happy hour deals. Despite the old look of it he always keeps it up to date. Has just about every place on the strand that has a happy hour at all. Also what end of the beach are you staying on?
Providing information and reviews on all of the happy hours in Myrtle Beach and the Grand Strand.
Awesome. Thanks for the link. We're staying on the South end. One mile from the airport at the Ocean Blue Condos.
Next year Easter is much later, three weeks to be exact. Already making plans for Spring Break in some nice, warm, weather.
I know you said not Broadway bars, but I would recommend hitting up Liberty for happy hour in Broadway, great microbrews and happy hour food, we make sure to hit it up every time we are in town, used to be really popular place for happy hour back in the day.
