Why do you all feel so entitled? Why do you feel that the world owes you shit? How come whenever you don't get some achievement that you feel you deserve you go apeshit?
Just my thoughts as I watch my classmates not get internships they thought they should have gotten. The inability of my generation to deal with failure is fucking pathetic. The above questions also apply to FOB Indians too. This kid almost broke down because he didn't get an MBB offer? Like seriously dude? Life goes on.
Holy crap. My first instinct was to lock this moronic race baiting thread. Then I realized it would be better to leave it open to mock you--of all people--bitching about someone feeling entitled. Your mirror must be broken.
Anybody who knows me knows I am a lot of things but entitled is not one of them.
Here, we only know the persona you choose to adopt for your posting.
Of course I feel entitled. I had to grow up in the hood and I got screwed out of looking awesome bald, a OT sized dong and that extra leg muscle Jimmy the Greek was talking about.
Nobody owes us anything.
We already own everything.
This pretty much. The moment things dont go your way or your not in control all we hear is bitching and complaining.
The bankers are the worst in my opinion. Get over your fucking selves, 95% of them are good at just one thing but their world view is so myopic its pathetic.
You grew up in PG County. You're not really white. Speaking of which why do so many white people in PG County either grow up to be hard core libs or "frodes/toogs" ? It is something I consistently see.
What is this Myopia thing, is that some country we haven't gotten around to conquering yet?
Its better than growing up to be a Cowboys fan.
Black Men... why are you so lazy?
Hispanic Men... why are you all here illegally?
Arab Men... why are you all terrorists?
Jewish Men... why are you so greedy?
...is that how you play?
wait, I am a frode?
Because you grow up in/surrounded by poverty, and you either identify with and understand the plight of the poor and downtrodden, or you resent the hell out of them. Not much middle ground there.
I should say white men in corporate america. However the stereotypes I see my classmates play out everyday is hilarious. Sometimes I wish I could show them how ridiculous they look because they act so predictable.
This thread was worth it just for this post.
Another thing I find interesting about this is how individual experiences effect which path you walk down. For example, some poor people making fun of you as an awkward youth and treating you like shit can cause deeply held antipathy that manifests itself into antagonistic political positions towards a "them", because you've never really gotten over it.
Nah, that's not it. Poor people, middle class people, and rich people made fun of me as an awkward youth/teen/adult, so I don't think that explains my antipathy for certain THEMs
Some people take it better than others. (That hopefully includes myself).

Tiffles is entitled to affirmative action.
Thats an interesting point. My GMAT score is as high as most of the white guys in my class. My grades are just as good if not better than most of them. It's actually sad when I consider how much work I put in vs. how much work they put in.
I assume this is much more a Duke thing than a white thing (although there's obviously a lot of overlap there).
While we're race-baiting, though....my MBA experience has shown that Indians/Asians are way more hardcore about job searching than any other group. Not even close.
A more serious answer is that culture at top business schools tells you that if you're not getting an MBB/Goldman/hedge fund/VC/etc. job, you're basically a failure. No one wants to have spent $100k+ to get a job that they probably could've gotten for cheaper at a lesser school. (or potentially without going back to school at all).

Well, I mean, that’s what it is. I doodoo and then listen to Katy Perry.
Secondly, white women are the biggest beneficiaries of affirmative action. Something that I have come to realize in the past few months.
Dog! Them dudes are not trying to go back. Duke just based on my observation is full of people who want to belong to something greater than their individual self. The Duke culture is very "cult-like"
