I often go several months, which is probably a big reason my life kind of sucks.
No idea. Likely a week or so and it was likely because I was sick. There was a time in my life where I think a couple people were concerned with my drinking --- not due to behavior but due to volume. It's been a while since I'd have a 1/2 dozens manhattans followed by 12-18 beers in a night. Right now, I'm drinking a flying fish abbey dubbel. Its my first of the night. I grabbed it because I needed to put one of my Westys on ice. My dad is coming to town tomorrow. He just turned 82. Thought it would be pretty cool to share the experience with him - a first for both of us. I grew up with parents that had a daily cocktail hour. I believe that drinking in moderation is good for you.
I drink all day everyday.
drinking is a vice that, as an adult, I've been blessed with self control. I generally drink exactly how much I want to drink. Oh I'm at a house party with pickle backs and I've brought 12 tall boys? Yeah I'm getting hammered. Oh I'm at dinner and want a few glasses of wine? Ok. I'm getting a few IPAs with some friends at happy hour after work? Perfect. Oh I just got home and want to pour a whiskey before bed? Sounds great. I really like drinks, drinking, or getting drunk. I like learning about new whiskeys or wines or beers or gins or just downing a boatload of Orangeboom before a football game.
Maybe in ten years my life will be in shambles. I hope not!
Anyway the answer is like my last drink was an hour ago.
Last drink was on Sunday...
It's so easy to walk in the basement and choose any of the 3 beers on tap.
Can you help an OWG out? What is orangeboom? I ask this as a former bartender and a guy who only enjoys shopping at liquor stores and grocery stores.
I'm on a new diet and I want to cut out drinking for all of January. I may continue into February because I do think its contributing to my weight loss.
This. I'll have like a beer or drink at/after dinner a several times a week, or I'll have 4/5 over the course of a random NFL Sunday. But I only actually get drunk once every 3-4 months.
I don't think I had anything to drink for about a 10-12 day stretch in December while dealing with a bunch of other crap though, but I honestly couldn't tell you for sure. Who keeps track or thinks about this stuff as a responsible adult?
Doing a detox January, so since New Years. It's been easy so far but mostly because I've been sick as a bastard lately, so I think my innate alcoholic urges are being satisfied by Nyquil.
Once I went a monday and tuesday
I usually try to do one month a year but usually break down around 10-12 days. February is my month. Come spring to summer to fall I bet it's 2 days. I have issues.
I haven't had any alcohol since Saturday night. So, what's that, 4 days. That's a long stretch for me. Not necessarily binge drinking or anything, but I like having one or two beers after work.
minutes or seconds?
I have a couple of beers, every day. Maybe a glass of wine. If I missed a day recently, it was probably because i was sick or something.
5 days maybe? I like drinking.
Do people not drink when they're sick? I'm not talking about getting plastered, but just having a beer with dinner or whatever. I'm just getting over a cold that I've had two weeks today and I've had a beer or two almost every day. I don't really change up my schedule/routine when sick, I'm just more miserable than I normally am.
I don't drink when I am sick, but I also never get sick.
If I'm sick with a cold, I'm more likely to have a glass of wine after the kids are in bed vs. beer. I don't know why, it seems like the wine is more 'medicinal' or something. If nothing else, it helps me get to sleep better.
48 hours when I had a colonoscopy after Christmas. Prior to that was when I got the flu last January and was clean for about 48 hours.
Arch-patriot Dayn Perry, that's who!
News you can use... to feel better about your own drinking habits. Dayn Perry, of both CBSSports.com's Eye on Baseball and the present charming weblog, made
I don't drink to get drunk very much anymore. I still enjoy a beer or a whiskey pretty regularly though drinking excessively just brings about more cons than pros for me. It's fun to get drunk every once in a while, just not four times a week like it used to be. Also, my health is a lot more important to me nowadays.
I'll never be one of those people who looks down on others for drinking though. Do what you want and as much as you want. It's your life.
Does this include eating plants?
My life sucks.
I often go several weeks to a month. I'm boring.
No. This is jtp's doing. He's kept me around for his bizarre HOF resume.
Probably my favorite thing about that night was drunk 286 bringing a box of pizza into the bar. Everyone was so surprised/excited to see that until he opened it up and it was empty. LOL.
im sorry i was confusing...your "Superbowl" was the Redskins losing since you know that the Ravens cant win it all.
