Just come up with something a little more intellectually based than "BUSH DID IT TOO!!!2"
Oh now, that's just Pravda doing it's job as the official voice of the Soviet Communist Party.
“The president’s decision to circumvent the American people by installing his appointees at a powerful federal agency, when the Senate was not in recess, and without obtaining the advice and consent of the Senate, is an unprecedented power grab,” McConnell said. “We will demonstrate to the court how the president’s unconstitutional actions fundamentally endanger the Congress’s role in providing a check on the excesses of the executive branch.”
Obama really isn't very clear on that whole 'separation of powers' thing, is he?
Must be that Harvard magna cum laude honor.
Couple of interesting articles on Dems starting to cave on Keystone, and how Barney Frank's recent criticism of the way Obamacare was handled has opened the floodgates for criticism from a number of Dems.
When the House voted on the pipeline in July of last year, 47 Democrats broke with the president. Now that it’s an election year and the number is up to 69, look for Republicans to hold more pipeline votes before November. GOP leaders expect even more Democrats to join them.
Then there is the Senate. Democrats are using the filibuster to stop the pipeline, which means 60 votes are required to pass it. (Some Democrats who bitterly opposed the filibuster when Republicans used it against Obama initiatives are notably silent these days.) In a vote last month, 11 Senate Democrats stood up against Obama to vote in favor of the pipeline. Add those 11 to the Republicans’ 47 votes, and the pro-pipeline forces are just a couple of votes away from breaking Harry Reid’s filibuster.
“We’re right around the corner from actually passing it,” says a well-informed Senate source. “Two-hundred-ninety-three votes in the House is a gigantic number. People want this thing.”
An increasing number of Democrats are taking potshots at President Obama’s healthcare law ahead of a Supreme Court decision that could overturn it.
The public grievances have come from centrists and liberals and reflect rising anxiety ahead of November’s elections.
Rep. Dennis Cardoza (D-Calif.) also criticized his party’s handling of the issue, and said he repeatedly called on his leaders to figure out how they were going to pay for the bill, and then figure out what they could afford.
Cardoza, who like Miller will retire at the end of the Congress, said he thought the bill should have been done “in digestible pieces that the American public could understand and that we could implement.”

Rats + sinking ship
LOL at liberals telling us we need the Buffett Rule, but declining to pay extra themselves.
....The state’s tax return gives taxpayers the option of paying a higher rate of 5.85 percent, as opposed to the standard rate of 5.3 percent.
Warren has criticized her opponent, Sen. Scott Brown (R., Mass.), for his opposition to the so-called “Buffett Rule,” which would increase taxes on about 4,000 millionaires and raise about $4.7 billion per year in additional revenue.
A Harvard professor, Warren is worth an estimated $14.5 million...
Massachusetts Democratic Senate candidate Elizabeth Warren favors higher taxes on multi-millionaires like herself, but when given the chance to personally contribute more on her state tax return, she declined.
According to emails obtained by WikiLeaks, which is led by the embattled Julian Assange, Republican Senator John McCain's 2008 presidential campaign staff allegedly had evidence that Democrats stuffed ballot boxes in Pennsylvania and Ohio on election night. However, the candidate chose not to pursue voter fraud, according to internal emails obtained from the private intelligence and analysis firm, Stratfor.
Stratfor regularly reports on geopolitics, narcotics, security and terrorism, particularly overseas. The company, which was founded by George Friedman, has high-level subscribers including at least one former U.S. Secretary of State, various foreign governments, and intelligence agencies. The U.S. Marines and the Department of Homeland Security are also customers. In recent months, Stratfor was in the news because a still unknown party hacked the Stratfor website and obtained subscribers’ names.
The internal emails in this case provided insight into Stratfor’s interest in U.S. politics. In an email sent on November 7, 2008, entitled " Insight - The Dems & Dirty Tricks ** Internal Use Only - Pls Do Not Forward **," Stratfor vice president of intelligence Fred Burton wrote:
1) The black Dems were caught stuffing the ballot boxes in Philly and Ohio as reported the night of the election and Sen. McCain chose not to fight. The matter is not dead inside the party. It now becomes a matter of sequence now as to how and when to "out".
Two days earlier, Burton wrote an email entitled "Insight - McCain #5 ** internal use only - Pls do not forward **," :
After discussions with his inner circle, which explains the delay in his speech, McCain decided not to pursue the voter fraud in PA and Ohio, despite his staff's desire to make it an issue. He said no. Staff felt they could get a federal injunction to stop the process. McCain felt the crowds assembled in support of Obama and such would be detrimental to our country and it would do our nation no good for this to drag out like last go around, coupled with the possibility of domestic violence.
The Nov. 7 email also contains allegations that Democrats made a "six-figure donation" to Rev. Jesse Jackson to silence him on the topic of Israel after an October 2008 interview in which he said Obama’s presidency would remove the clout of “Zionists who have controlled American policy for decades.”
Burton, a former State Department official, wrote:
2) It appears the Dems "made a donation" to Rev. Jesse (no, they would never do that!) to keep his yap shut after his diatribe about the Jews and Israel. A little bird told me it was a "nice six-figure donation". This also becomes a matter of how and when to out.
Burton’s email also speaks to an accusation that candidate Barack Obama’s campaign accepted money donations from Russia, while noting that President Bill Clinton’s re-election campaign was alleged to have sought contributions from China to the Democratic National Committee.
3) The hunt is on for the sleezy Russian money into O-mans coffers. A smoking gun has already been found. Will get more on this when the time is right. My source was too giddy to continue. Can you say Clinton and ChiCom funny money? This also becomes a matter of how and when to out.
Stratfor’s Burton is a former Deputy Chief of the Department of State's counterterrorism division for the Diplomatic Security Service (DSS). Besides conducting background checks and investigations of U.S. diplomatic personnel and providing embassy security, the DSS assists the Department of Defense in following leads and doing forensic analysis of hard drives of computers seized by the U.S. government in ongoing criminal investigations.
WikiLeaks has published 973 out of what it says are 5 million internal Stratfor emails (dated between July 2004 and December 2011) obtained by the hacker Anonymous in 2011.
Stratfor, the US-based private intelligence company, says that Senator John McCain's campaign knew that electoral fraud was going on in 2008 but chose to do nothing. For such a time as this.
Can't have democrats without the rats.
The National Review addresses the mental confusion of leading Democrats in Congress regarding the First Amendment and corporations - interesting stuff:
...Nancy Pelosi and congressional Democrats, frustrated by the fact that the Bill of Rights interferes with their desire to muzzle their political opponents, have proposed to repeal the First Amendment.
That is precisely what the so-called People’s Rights Amendment would do. If this amendment were to be enacted, the cardinal rights protected by the First Amendment — free speech, freedom of the press, freedom of assembly, freedom to petition the government for redress of grievances — would be redefined and reduced to the point of unrecognizability. The amendment would hold that the rights protected by the Constitution are enjoyed only by individuals acting individually; individuals acting in collaboration with others would be stripped of those rights.
The Supreme Court and U.S. law have long held that Americans do not surrender the rights they enjoy individually when they act in association with one another. This has been a fundamental feature of U.S. law since the very beginning, and even before that, inasmuch as the notion that collective action does not deprive us of our rights goes back into the Common Law as well. U.S. court cases going back to the 18th century recognize that fact, as does federal statute: 1 U.S.C. §1 reads in part: “the words ‘person’ and ‘whoever’ include corporations, companies, associations, firms, partnerships, societies, and joint stock companies, as well as individuals...
The Editors writes on NRO: The phrase “stunning development” is used far too often in our politics, but here is an item that can be described in no other way: Nancy Pelosi and congressional Democrats, frustrated by the fact that the Bill of Rights interferes with their desire to muzzle their political opponents, have proposed . . .
Very interesting 30 minute or so interview of Katie Pavlich, the author of "Fast and Furious".
(she's in the last half hour or so of this show)
On Feb. 4, 2011, Weich wrote to Congress that the idea that “ATF ‘sanctioned’ or otherwise knowingly allowed the sale of assault weapons to a straw purchaser who then transported them into Mexico … is false.”
“ATF makes every effort to interdict weapons that have been purchased illegally and prevent their transportation to Mexico,” Weich added in that letter.
The DOJ has since retracted Weich’s letter but has not held anyone accountable for providing that misinformation to Congress, or for Operation Fast and Furious itself.
Now he'll be resigning.
That's not the only scandal he's covering DoJ on. The Daily Caller has recently reported on a bribery scandal in the Virgin Islands, with the Governor taking up to $20 million in bribes for favors. Weich's claiming DoJ doesn't know anything about that, either -- despite the fact that...
...TheDC’s investigation unearthed allegations that two DOJ prosecutors on a team of more than 25 accepted cash bribes from indicted finance executives in the U.S. Virgin Islands.
High-ranking DOJ official to resign amid Fast and Furious, Virgin Islands bribery scandals | Official provided Congress with misleading letter that was later retracted
Yeah, well I blame George Bush.
In my opinion, this was an effort by the Obama Administration, and in particular the DoJ and Homeland Security, with collaboration with the Washington Post to create a "discovery" of illegally sold guns in the possession ruthless Mexican drug cartels. That discovery was to be parlayed into a national reaction demanding more gun control laws.
This government is corrupt, tramples rights, and needs removal in November.
Holder: "we need to brainwash people against teh evil guns"
Pure manipulation of the worst kind being practiced by these anti-American pieces of shit. They will literally stop at NOTHING to impose their craptastic far left radical agenda on America.
These people are no better than any Soviet KGB operatives.
There hasn't been a gun control bill passed or even seriously considered that I'm aware of, even when the "anti-American pieces of shit" had 60 Senators. For stopping at nothing to impose a craptastic far left radical agenda on America, the Democratic party is remarkably bad at getting anything passed through Congress. Or even considered at a committee level.
You're right in a sense that they have literally stopped at nothing, in that they've gotten nothing done on this front and have no ability to do so in the foreseeable future. A combination of total Republican opposition to gun control combined with Western and Southern Democratic congressional opposition makes any bill of consequence a political non-starter in a way that would make Big Corn blush with envy.

I don't think it will actually come to this, but it would be somewhat interesting if Holder is issued a contempt citation....

Unless voter integrity efforts take root this year, the notion of free and fair elections could become a relic of American history, Catherine Engelbrecht warned listeners during the "True the Vote National Summit in Houston, Texas yesterday. Engelbrecht, who is the president and founder of the organization, cited specific instances throughout the country where the number of voters listed on registration rolls exceeded the actual number of eligible voters. She also said it was far too easy for non-citizens to obtain voter registration forms.
"The next few months are critical to the telling of our story," she said. "Our goal is the make the 2012 elections the freest and fairest the country has ever seen." Engelbrecht acknowledged this is a tall order. The various pressure groups opposed to photo identification requirements are very well funded and well organized. But they are not on the side of public opinion.
The latest survey from Rasmussen finds that 64 percent of likely U.S. voters see voter fraud as a serious problem. The same survey also reports that 73 percent of Americans do not view photo ID laws as being discriminatory.
Great News: Solyndra Plant Full of Toxic Waste
MILPITAS (CBS 5) — Three months ago, CBS 5 caught Solyndra tossing millions of dollars worth of brand new glass tubes used to make solar panels. Now the bankrupt solar firm, once touted as a symbol of green technology, may be trying to abandon toxic waste.
It’s a tedious process. Slowly but surely, the shattered remains of brand new solar panel tubes head to a recycling plant in Hayward.
Meanwhile the next phase of the company’s liquidation is under way. It involves getting rid of all the heavy metals left inside the building that were used to make the panels.
The Fremont Fire Department’s Jay Swardenski oversees the cleanup. He said some materials, such as cadmium, are toxic, and hard to dispose of.
“They don’t degrade at all, so we want to make sure we don’t allow these materials to get into the environment,” he said.
It’s not just the leftover hazardous materials, but also the machinery used to apply them to the glass tubes. “Certainly those tools will need to be decontaminated, cleaned up, handled correctly as they are taken apart,” he said.
Swardenski told CBS 5 the disposal process is going smoothly in Fremont, but what about nearby Milpitas? Solyndra leased a building on California Circle for the final assembly of its solar panels. But the cleanup at the leased building in Milpitas is in limbo, because Solyndra doesn’t want to pay.
CBS 5 found the building locked up, with no one around. At the back, a hazardous storage area was found. There were discarded buckets half filled with liquids and barrels labeled “hazardous waste.”
The building’s owner, a company called iStar, claimed in court documents, “there may be serious environmental, health and safety issues” at the premises. According to the documents, they include, “numerous containers of solvents and chemicals…and processing equipment contaminated with lead.”
“Essentially it looks like they left a pretty big mess behind,” San Jose State Assistant Professor Dustin Mulvaney told CBS 5. Mulvaney has written a white paper (.pdf) on solar industry waste for the Silicon Valley Toxics Coalition.
Looking at CBS 5’s video, Mulvaney said it’s hard to tell how much hazardous waste is at the Milpitas facility. But he said one thing is for sure.
“Materials labeled hazardous waste require a lot more protocol, so its actually a lot more expensive to clean,” Mulvaney said. “It’s very sad looking at this facility taken apart like this, because a lot of money went into building this.”
Swardenski feels the same way. “It is hard. They are beautiful buildings; there was a lot of effort put into them. But we’ll work as hard to pout them back into productive use,” he said.
CBS 5 asked both Solyndra and iStar for comment on this story. But as of the original airdate, neither company has replied.

YAY lib hypocrisy!!!!
This report reveals the Left’s vote fraud strategy for the 2012 elections. Like a KGB operation, it is thorough, multi-faceted and redundant. It has overt and covert, illegal and legal elements, the latter of which are designed, at least in part, to facilitate illegal activities later. It is a deliberate, premeditated, comprehensive plan to win the 2012 presidential election at all costs, and is in keeping with the organizational methods, associations and ethics of the Community-Organizer-in-Chief, Barack Obama.
The Left seeks fundamental structural change to our entire form of government. In keeping with their amoral, means-justifies-ends philosophy, they will register any voters, dead or alive, legal or illegal, who will then vote as many times as possible, in order to establish a “permanent progressive majority.” As two New York Democrats recently caught in a vote fraud scandal told police, “voter fraud is an accepted way of winning elections…”
You guys aren't too familiar with how FOIA works, eh?
