I didn't see anything last night as particularly illogical.
Me neither. I don't think Rick had to chase down the one prisoner to kill him, but I can see him not wanting to take any chances after what happened with that one guy.
Yeah, he didn't have to chase him, but when your "blood is up" you are more likely to make the snap decision to go after him.
Which then led to the fantastic scene of him just cold bloodedly locking the dude out in the yard.
maybe it me, and who am i to question the shows success, but wouldnt it be better if they had a show like this where you dont want all the supposed protagonists to die a horrible death?
I was happy to see that Lori still doesn't watch after Carl, especially in a locked down area like the cell block.
Uh, giving weapons to dudes he just met 15 minutes ago and already has a pension for being mean/psycho doesn't seem illogical to you?
I mean Rick is supposed to be the leader of the group. The group has already been through a ton... you think he might want to think shit through a little bit before endangering himself, crossbow guy, and tdog?
I honestly don't think I'm being nitpicky. I accept the scratching/bites expediting zombie-turning and I accept the implausible things surrounding the zombies. I agree 100% with strO. It's the characters being idiots that irritates me.
Not exactly a normal world. If you are fighting zombies and don't give them any weapons then they aren't very useful. I think I will take my gun vs the guy who had the baseball bat.
He essentially gave them the equivalent of some boards with nails, and kept all the guns for themselves.
I like the pace that this season is going in. Seems to move a whole lot better and closer to the comic timelines.
It's just little stupid things that piss me off and show the lazy writing and production. Like when they first encounter the armored zombies, they have trouble with them because they are trying to hit them in the head except they are wearing helmets and masks. They keep doing it until the girl stabs one under the mask and basically shouts "Eureka!" like she figured something out the aliens are afraid of water. Then last night as they enter the room where Rick eventually kills the head bad guy prisoner, T-Dog shuts the door behind them, making escape harder.
The point is that the people making the show don't care enough to fix these little things because they're just filling the show with flying blood and machetes to heads and crying speeches to future zombies. They're not trying to make a good show. They're trying to get people to watch. That's fine, they are smart to do that, and they are clearly doing a good job because the show gets great numbers. Unfortunately it greatly affects the quality of the show.
True, but what were his options? You either kill them on the spot, help them in exchange for food/supplies, or they follow you back to where your people are.
I think most of this stuff is nitpicky meaningless crap and in no way affects the show. You can just as easily assume T-Dog shut the door behind them so that no trailing zombies they didn't get yet don't spring up on them from behind. Especially as they are dealing with a threat from the other door. It allows you to control the situation IMO.
To each their own I guess.
Are the same people who bitched that there was no action last season still bitching because there is to much this season?
Maybe he closed the door just in case any walkers came from that side they wouldn't be ambushed?
Kind of like when the big black guy backed away from everyone and some walkers came around the corner at him...
Right and I get this also, but I think Rick and his crew proved they could easily clear a cell block by themselves if they were just smart about it. Either you make them do it completely themselves or Rick's crew does it. Mixing factions in a tight closed in area after they have already made subtle threats your way is just hilariously bad.
And lol @ people saying the weapons were weak. That's not the point. It's that they are obviously going to be in a close-quartered situation taking out walkers with people you literally cannot trust at that point. I don't care if you give him a fcking pool noodle to fight with, the guy knows you have weapons, women, and are after his food. It doesn't take a genius to know that something bad could seriously happen under those circumstances.
Maybe they'll have a webisode where nuCarl casually mows down 50 zombies to get the medical supplies.

The show still has the same problems, now there are just more zombies. They're way past the point where the zombies are exciting either. There's just so many of them and there's nothing new. How many times do we need to see a machete hit a head and CGI blood go flying before it loses all effect? The characters are still as awful as before and the storytelling is terrible.
I have a solution for you... stop watching the show.
I loved the prison riot zombie scene
I've enjoyed this season. I'd watch reruns of these two episodes.
More likely to kill a random stranger: Rick or Walter White?
the entire zombie genre is interesting because it makes you think about how you or anyone would survive...so suspending my judgement of other aspects of the show is ok.
In an interview Kirkman said there will be more of Axel (prisoner) so that story line isn't completely done. You can see the confrontation between Daryl and Merle coming a mile away. The outcome should be predictable if they stay true to Daryl's back story.
I like watching it because I enjoy making fun of it and picking it apart. It hasn't gotten like Dexter where it's so bad it's not fun anymore and I stop watching.
