germantown has the royal bakery.
Germantown is an interesting place. At times it could feel like a piece of PG County was moved to Montgomery County. It was your typical cookie cutter, suburban existence with a bit of an edge. Now, don't confuse this with me claiming "life is hard in the streets." It's just that I moved there from upstate New York where diversity was still rumored to be an old wooden ship, so I probably needed to be exposed a bit to different races and cultures. Either way, I enjoyed growing up there. The only issue being that there seemed to be one police officer per high school student. Hampered our fun a bit.
An interesting dichotomy was how Germantown was viewed by our counterparts to the north and south. Damascus kids considered us snooty, down county kids. Rockville and Potomac kids considered us some kind of farmer/thug hybrid. Please feel free to refute if you're from either of these parts. IMO, the Rockville and Potomac kids were usually only encountered on their way to either swim practice or the country club. And the Damascus kids were usually popping pills.
Im ready for aa 5th of vodica to end my feels.
My fiancée is from Germantown but went to Damascus. Damascus people think they are the only people who exist and that they are better than everyone.
anything north of rockville was "upcounty." the people, the places, stores, everything upcounty. never defined but always understood, "upcounty" is a combination of redneck, yo' boy, whiskey tango, menthol cigarettes, ms-13, middle america and more.

Yep. Gaithersburg is where things start to blur. Once you get beyond there you're in the country.
Basically if 355 is 2 lanes when it passes through your town, you're in the country.
355 turns from 6 lanes to 2 when leaving Germantown for Clarksburg, FWIW.
I think he means paved two lanes and isn't counting dirt.
After growing up there, I truly think Montgomery County is the weirdest suburbian county in America.

It's pretty interesting how ingrained in their bubble they really are. It's funny, my fiancées mom lovessssss talking about how great Damascus is. Basically Damascus is THM (no offense)
You sound bitter, are you a woman?
I hate the idea of Terp Thon. I hate that we couldn't be more original with it and I hate that we are now tied with PSU's name.
"It's just so hard," Greivis said. "It's my heart, my love. Maryland made me who I am."
The MMA one is crap.
Obama is a cornball president bob
WHERE ARE PURDUE LEVEL, WHERE?
So you watch boxing because it turns you on. Gotcha.
Whoa bob, c'mon now
LOL at Obama, America is a passing league now
So untrue. The rich, white Euro-Brazilians from Sao Paolo down South to Porto Alegre and Pelotas definitely look down on the Afro-Brazilian "neegars" to the North
Obama is the best campaigning president ever. He's also one of the worst compromisers ever, which is kind of an important thing for a president to be able to do. Yes, he came into the job at a shitty time, but that doesn't mean he hasn't been terrible.
This is a good thread

Not as unpopular as you might think.

I've never appreciated internet baiting until this page on this thread.
Apparently so was the Wake Forest one.
I'm now beginning to doubt his judgment about the hotness of Brazilian women.
