My girls are enormous Taylor Swift fans and will be attempting to get tickets when they go on sale Friday at 10am. It's been a while since I did this and from the few attempts somewhat recently I found that Ticketmaster is a huge pain in the ass. First and foremost I am going to get 6 tickets for my family, which is max, then will attempt to get another 6 for some friends. Last time I did I got screwed up because I had two browsers open and apparently you can't do that. I wouldn't doubt that after my six i may not be able to get anymore under my name and may need to open another account? I don't know, any advice would be greatly appreciated to ensure I don't screw this up. Most importantly, the tickets for my kids.

maybe go to a taylor swift fan website and see if there are any presale codes?
and have a tickemaster account already made and ready to go. i dont buy a lot of tickets through them so i forget my password and have to create new accounts each time i buy.
and im not sure if you can buy another 6 on the same account so maybe have an account in your wife's name for the 2nd 6.
or you could do what i did back in the day and sleep out over night at the Hecht's in Landover mall. how did i not die?
I blew the presale. Had multiple browsers open and kicked me out and then they sold out of allotment. I think I learned you can have multiple computers open in same account and will be adding another account I guess.
Hechts at Montgomery mall for me. Those were the days.
use two computers?
I got two club seats during the presale, damn lucky.
My best advice would be to go to a Ticketmaster outlet and be first in line. You have a much better chance than online. I don't know if Macy's or indie record stores still have them, but if you can find an obscure outlet that's close I think it's your best bet. Or find someone from out of town who has a TM close by and have them buy them. I'm sure there will be a line at Verizon Center by 6AM. There are a bunch of cities that go on sale tomorrow.

This is why I love this Board. 12-yr old is crazy about her, and I wouldn't have known about it.
This is the best advice. Back before online sales, I found a record shop that opened at 9 am where all the other outlets opened at 10 am.
...in the event you come away empty handed, start hitting ticketmaster every day a couple times a day about 2 weeks before the show. Very often, they will slowly release band/house tickets. I've scored 10th row to sold out shows a week prior because band tickets are released.

Sleeping out for Rolling Stones tickets in 1989 or whatever is still a top 5-10 night in my life. First beej of my life ftw.
Terpdog, also check StubHub tomorrow around 10:20 once everything is sold out. There are always a couple noobs who post way underpriced tickets up there because they've never used it before. You are paying above face, but there are always some "bargains" right out of the gate.
And Firma is right, the week of there are always sporadic tickets dropped. You just have to get lucky.
Crossfire Hurricane is on HBO tonight at 9.
I just did a search for ticketmaster retail places and nothing remotely close. Last year someone else handled through ticketmaster and no kidding we had Bob Uecker seats. Last row, hilarious. So you think I am screwed if I am on at 10am searching for six tickets? What about calling ticketmaster number?
Fort Mead seems to come up a lot. Anybody been to one that they know is reliable and a good place?
You have almost no shot of getting 6 good seats together online. Isn't that the limit?
What do you suggest? Lesser amount I guess
So trying to buy 4 at any price and best available. Keeps tell me sorry, no exact matches were found, but other tickets may still be available on ticketmaster.com. Is this normal? I hate ticketmaster
They're the worst. I just bought flogging molly tickets for DC, with a 25% service fee from Live Nation, which is a ticketmaster company, then went to buy Philly FM tickets, which were actually on the ticketmaster website, and those had a 33% markup.
Luckily, and for the first time ever when using their platform, I didn't have any glitches, crashes or lockups, so there's that.
I am so pissed. I guess I couldn't get tickets. From the first minute I got that message. Someone else I know got tickets for Sunday already in the nosebleed so even I get they are going to suck
How can literally thousands of tickets be on stubhub right now
I think people want to go to the show. I've taken my daughter to three of her shows and the dedication of the fans rivals the Dead. You can forget about getting into Rosa Mexicana, Jaleo, etc anywhere less than two hours before show time. The Milf quotient with their daughters is quite high. and the second show is Mother's Day, so there may be some gift giving for that one.
Forget about it until April and then start looking for dropped tickets on TM and check StubHub again then.
It was sold out at that point in time. Fan Club presales, Amex preseales drain probably 20% at least, and if you're not lucky at on sale date it's worthless. Was at Verizon for Gymanstics last night and the sign said they'd be having a wristband lottery at 8 this morning for Taylor tickets.
How can I get "no exact matches found" from minute 1? For any ticket, even tried 1.
You're 1 of 10K people trying for tickets probably, the odds aren't good. I have no idea what TM's queueing algo is, and I'm not sure that "security page" even helps.
107.3 is giving tickets away left and right, but being "caller #10" is the same lottery at TM. Listen to the country stations as well.
I have been frustrated like this many times. I have no idea how they pull it off legally, but the scalping sites seem to never have any trouble acquiring really good tickets. It is obviously a situation where they are either all in cahoots or they are all flat out owned by Live Nation. I suspect the latter.
True that but also 2 shows of 20k people. It's not like I didn't get through, I got through minute 1 with no exact matches. How can there be no exact matches at 10:01. Just very frustrating.
I can buy them for 150 to 200 a piece right now. What do you suggest sugar in regards of getting tickets? Do I buy now or is it just better to wait and they might get cheaper as show approaches due to them wanting to unload them?
I did the same thing on TM for when Ravens single game tickets the past 4 or 5 years intending to use as gifts for family members/friends. Would plug in 2 tix for "best available" or whatever for a shit game (not PIT or a big name team) and never one time got tickets. I get the supply/demand thing but there is no chance every game is sold out in less than 5 minutes. TM is total bullshit. Unless you know someone who has access the previously mentioned ideas are the best bet for tix to anything, just have to pay a premium if you dont get the late date released tickets. Good luck getting them somehow terpdog!
