I think the SEC region makes a Hunger Games type alliance and takes everyone out until it is just those states remaining. Florida packs it in south of the Everglades and General Tebow leads them to victory. But following Reconstruction the Jaguars still don't sign him.
Ha the SEC speed has nothing on the money of the B1G alliance
This is like the Simpsons episode where Apu gets citizenship. "What caused the civil war?"
[Long list of textbook reasons]
"Just say slavery"
We all know Texas would win. Everyone else is fighting for second.
Alaska would be a dark horse, but in the end, sheer numbers would overwhelm them.
One of the biggest advantage Texas would have is that its citizens actually would want to fight for it. How many people would fight to the death for Maryland?
Im ready for aa 5th of vodica to end my feels.
Excuse my ignorance but how exactly does a state government mismanage water?
This guy is ready for war.
Wow. This is NOT roomy!
Zoning for residential or commercial use of land beyond the limits of the water table, reservoirs, etc. Though I guess it's possible these decisions ultimately occur at a more local level.

State mandating that sprinklers run all the time at Sanford Stadium so that the hedges are always green
Alaska would lose a conventional war but disperse into an insurgency and make life hell for Texas or whichever other dumb state invaded them.
Alaska also controls the oil.
You may as well have tacked a message to your forehead saying I HAVE NEVER PLAYED SIMCITY.
yeah Texas is an easy answer, but I'd still go with Alaska. Worst case, they would just stay out of it due to location. Certainly they would repel any invasion.
In addition to nearly everyone owning and firing a gun a LOT, many of them are also pilots. Plus they live such a hard life. And their terrain in so difficult to navigate. Alaskans are living in the 1900s. Plus most of them have fantastic mustaches. Certainly intimidating.
Would you want to invade Baltimore?
Invading Alaksa=Invading Russia. General Winter will defeat all.
Wisconsin could easily make a Florida Gulf Coast type of run. They have the terrain advantage since no one else ever wants to step foot in that state. Plus they could easily steal the upper half of Michigan that is attached to Wisconsin. I still can't figure out why they let Michigan have that piece of land when its not connected to the mainland Michigan at all.
Also, here's a really long but pretty interesting article I read a few months ago about this:
Invading the Dakotas and Wyoming would also probably be tough, since you could drive around for months without ever finding anyone to force to surrender.
Where do I sign up to fight for the anti-Virginian insurgency?
Some of the Northern states could be effed if they can't get enough food to feed their population. Controlling the Midwest will be key for food purposes and another reason why the BIG alliance would be strong.
Oklahoma going to call the Comanche nation up from the reserves/reservations
What about DC-- I mean, its not like oil, military and food are anywhere near as important as having the highest density of lawyers per square foot.
D.C. is the first target when this war breaks out. It's like during riots where the rich people and bosses get attacked by the envious workers first.
Sure, I would just promise free cell phones ah la one of those dumb criminal round ups where they offer free shit and arrest them all. Everyone would show up (except Matt) and then you could easily waste them. Simple.
I am afraid of the hybrid dog/people that will be the remnents of WVA.
