Yeah. This will end well.
Is this a scene in Saw VII or a wedding???
At this rate Saw VII seems most likely.
This is definitely more on the Pittsburg side of the sitcom.
"It's just so hard," Greivis said. "It's my heart, my love. Maryland made me who I am."
So the invitation for that bridal shower I'm going to lists the couple's registries, which are the same as their wedding registries. I know I'm expected to bring a gift, but is it acceptable to go off-registry? The pickings are pretty slim and I've got a pretty good idea I think they'll like.
A highlight (lowlight) from my wedding:
We finally got through the ceremony, pictures, and were at cocktail hour. We hadn't eaten in like 7 hours (our own fault) and had been drinking for a while. I'm a big dude and need to eat or I get cranky. So cocktail hour ends and we are in the room where it took pace and there is a ton of food left so I start crushing lump crab meat and cheese fondue at an unhealthy rate. Finally we roll in, first dance, yada yada. Finally we sit and all of a sudden I think all of the nerves and adrenaline wore off and I was drained. I was tired, dehydrated, drunk, and full of Luke warm lump crab meat and cheese sauce as thick as molasses. I turn to my wife and let her know I'm not feeling too well (I was legit thinking I can't wait until this ends). She looks back and says don't be a fucking pussy. I agree that I shouldn't be a pussy in this situation. I proceed to go downstairs to the first floor of the belvedere where another wedding is going on and light up the bathroom (see Billy Bob, Varsity Blues). From that point on I was good to go.
Lowlight: Kaela's complete douche of a boyfriend. Wear a tie, asshole.
FWIW over the last few years I've tried to convince her to not date the guys she does and steer then to you guys. I'm still working.
Highlight: the vine video of me destroying the dance floor

I ate nothing at my wedding. The country club where we had our reception promised us a picnic bag of leftovers for us to eat back at our hotel and into the next morning before our flight. We get back to the hotel starved and after a quick search could not find the food bag. We go out in downtown Richmond for a few hours to keep celebrating and have still had nothing. I go over to Richmond City Dog to buy some hot dogs and fries to take back to our hotel room. After we get back with the hot dogs we find the picnic bag and begin a meal that could only be described as a pride of lions ripping apart a wildebeest. Satisfied, we pass out and miss our 6am flight.
We didn't eat anything wedding night (insert Eamhokie joke). Next day we went to the Os game and crushed old bay brats. Got back to hotel around 5, decided we had to have Nacho Mamas quesadillas. (Un)fortunately they only deliver downtown for orders over $50. We managed, between the two of us, to order $65 worth of food and do so much work before, during, and after GoT before catching our flight to Mexico Monday morning
Belvedere in bmore? My buddy's reception is there later this year.
Yes sir. It was awesome. Good staff. Good food. I think jdawg mentioned to me a while back the drinks were meh but we had a good experience.
yeah I don't know if it was the bartender, the package, my friends, or what but I was getting weak drinks all night and I did the "tip a $20 move" on the first drink and then other tips right in front of the guys hoping to get the ball rolling and it still got me nowhere
other than that I liked the venue a lot

"Maryland football: Where everybody gets hurt and the starting left tackle has an existential crisis."
Fiancee and I just booked our date at the UMUC Marriott and UMD Chapel. My family is Jewish and didn't want to see me get married in a church, hers is Catholic and wanted a full-blown Catholic mass. This is a solid compromise.
Anyway, UMUC Marriott is a hell of a deal. No venue rental fee, $99 room block, alumni discount, food is good for a hotel, they give you a bottom-line per-person price so the fees are already included, etc. The place was recently renovated and everything. I'm pumped for having everything in one place and letting the old people go to bed early while the party rages on into the night. And I'm extra pumped for being done with looking at venues. We must have looked at a dozen places. Maybe more.
Damn, that is a sick deal for the rooms. I'm going to a wedding in Blowing Rock, NC and the rooms were going to run $180/night. We said screw it and rented a cabin for the weekend.
Yeah, we paid significantly more than that at each of our seven weddings this season. And that included some fleabag motels in York, PA and Bedford, PA. So that was a pretty huge plus. (Well, that and the hotel being on-site.)
Going to a wedding tomorrow. I estimate the marriage's chance of survival is about 35%. (Not a shotgun wedding.)
classlessthug: I have too much on my plate to worry about the fact that my junk intimidates some needle D undergrad.
Good luck to you slatter. Glad to hear you got the parents on both sides reeled in. It is you and your bride's wedding and life after all, and if the two of you are good with it, both sets of in-laws need to just relax and enjoy it.
Because I'm an expert at failed marriages and shit and I figured it out, that's why
Why is this one doomed? Horse chick?
There are about a dozen different factors in play. She's much better looking but she's also desperate. They haven't known each other long, he seems a little too into it. Just a lot of things that one at a time aren't big deals, but the sum of the situation looks like a train wreck waiting to happen.
