Agreed, I was at 1OAK on an off night in November and it was PACKED. I've also been to all the listed clubs in San Diego and it's cracking me up that Whiskey Girl is on there, what a shitty place. Fluxx is great and you can't beat the rooftop at Stingaree's.
Taking the Drunk Bus home from Seacrets is a must at least once a year (and I'm an OWGirl). I was just there in early December during a girls' beach weekend. It was fairly dead but still fun for a few drinks. We have some really good memories there. Love Ferrari guy who dances in the club all night. I want to hear some baba stories.
Yeah, even at my advanced age, I enjoy a drunk bus trip to Seacrets. Mrs. Fletch is the queen of the bus flip.
And please, please, please Baba, tell us the stories! Even if they can only be in PM form.

Has Mrs. Fletch danced with Ferrari guy? It's a Seacrets tradition.
Oh, that fucking guy...
This donkey plays cover songs in the afternoon and it's as bad as you imagine.
Fixed it for you.
Some of those clubs are straight lying....LOL at Park only grossing 5-10 million. Thats not even believable.
In another city in another time....

Marquee opened a year earlier than 1OAK.
I'm pretty sure the list is a year old (see link below), which would explain 1OAK being left off.
It depends on which set of books are being quoted...
That fucking guy is a thing? I've seen him a bunch of times down there, I didn't know he was some OC staple.
Seacrets is awesome. It's hot, loud, expensive and crowded, but I've never had anything less than a great time there.
I have a spot on 52nd street, four blocks from Seacrets and next to Macky's. I can attest to the different crowds as it goes from day to night. Got a chance to meet the Ravens cheerleaders/Play Makers at the Beach Bash there last summer.
Detroit Hustles Harder
No mention of The Club Funky Donkey? We health inspectors used to love going to that Suitland hot spot to inspect 30+ years ago.
My last OC nightclub experience was at the Back of the Rack
Behind The Wine Rack, of course!
Never. And I mean never, ever.
Not to be way off topic but a related article on the bottom of that list is "Chinese Politician's Son Dies in Ferrari Sex Orgy Crash" YOLO
Didnt Marc Barnes file for bankruptcy a few yrs ago though? I thought he always had a ton of money coming in, but had crazy expenses too.
As for Seacrets... its a massive tourist trap, but I've had a great time every single time (about 9 or so in my life) that I've gone...
Seacrets has some of the trashiest people you'll ever come across in your lifetime. That said, it's amazing and I've been there at least 2 or 3 times the past few summers.
hahaha, holy shit I have pictures of that dude strutting on the boardwalk.
I don't know what you mean, but it had the cadence of a joke.
He did which is why Love is closed. But Park and 14th is co-owned by other people so they should be OK. All the ballers used to go there. Now they go to Capitale.
Sorry, been traveling. I don't have much time, so just a few quickies: the best shift to get there was called the VD shift. It was essentially from 4:00 until "Volume Decrease". Was also called VD because it was the easiest shift to get laid. You basically worked the area, scouted women, talked to them (easy to do, we could be trusted, we were essentially security) then the sift ended around midnight, you turned your shirt inside out, then had drinks with the women you were talking to all night. If you didn't hook up on a VD shift, it's because you didn't want to.
I once met someone after a VD shift, we hung out until close, then started hooking up in the hammocks while the place was being cleaned up. Then the rest of the staff finished shutting down, and left Seacrets (leaving only us), which then led to total privacy, and sex in the hammocks. THEN... I realized since no one was left, the whole place had been shut down. Meaning - the motion sensor alarms around the entire outside had been set. There was no way we could leave Seacrets without setting off the alarms. We couldn't even leave our 15 foot area without setting off an alarm. So...we stayed in the hammock all night. We both had to pee in the sand right next to them. We were hungry, and thirsty as shit, but there was nothing we could do about it. But the thing that made it most unbearable was that we had just met that night, drunk, so we didn't know each other. As we sobered up, we realized we probably didn't even really like each other. It was awkward and uncomfortable and annoying and pretty much sucked.
One Lunasea party (the full moon parties - always the busiest nights) I drew a short straw, and didn't have to work it. So me and two other doormen who weren't working threw a tailgate party in the parking lot (we filled our cars with many cases of beer, and assorted drugs). The bouncers who were working the door would turn down underage girls, however they would tell them to go join our tailgate party in the parking lot. So groups of underage girls (usually beach weekers) who were shot down at the door, would hang with us for a while, and either be attracted to us, or leave after a beer or two. It didn't matter, it was an endless supply of potential hookups. At one point, the girl to guy ratio at our tailgate was around 15 to 3. All three of us got off in some way, shape or form in our cars. Usually with a few different girls. We did the tailgate thing on other nights as well, but never with the success as Lunasea. Mostly because Leighton (the owner) and the GM were way too busy drinking (Leighton) or working (GM) to give a shit about the parking lot. Other, slower nights were riskier.
Here's the opposite of those two:
Been in a few "altercations" with guests. Seacrets is really good about using spotters and radios to bring lots of bouncers to one area if things look like they might get out of control. So as guests started to heat up, the mere arrival of 8-12 bouncers would usually deflate any attempt at a fight. One time we had to escort a really drunk, fat, rednecky woman out of the bar. I was one of the main people leading her from behind. When we got her to her friend's car, she turned around and hit me in the gut REALLY good. Knocked my wind out and almost brought me to my knees. I know that sounds wimpy, but that's what happened, folks. She delivered a perfect strike. It sounded like someone dropped an Easter ham. Everyone around me was stunned. Out of sheer instinct, I made a fist and brought it back behind my head like I was going to punch her in the face, and another bouncer grabbed my fist, put me in a weird headlock, and wrestled me away from the situation. The entire thing, from being hit to being removed, happened in about 3 seconds. So now I couldn't breath AND I was in a half nelson. The Easter ham being dropped immediately started sounding like a harpooned walrus. It was one of the most embarrassing moments of my life. I knew the other bouncer was saving me from potentially knocking out a woman, but he ended up making me look like I got my ass kicked by Roseanne Barr.
Sorry for any spelling or grammar mistakes, had to plow through these...
I feel like "drunk spotter" at Seacret's may be my missed calling.
Great stuff, Baba.
