I, for one, would measure the success of my coasters by how many staffers I had to put outside the exit to clean up the vomit. And yes, eventually all parks would have one launch coaster designed to crash into a busy walkway.
I actually enjoyed SimTower and downloaded it a few years back. Yes, those construction noises are god awful. SimAnt was also fun and came in a pack I got with SimEarth (lame) and SimFarm (lame). I had the itch to play SimAnt just a few weeks ago, for some reason.
But I just downloaded CivIV the other day, completely unaware of EA's plans to reboot the SimCity Franchise (Sim City>SC2k>SC3k>4>Sim City?). I'm actually glad because my life has been completely consumed by Civilization this week. For instance, I went to bed at 3am last night, dissatisfied because Isabella and the Spaniards were still alive but unable to keep my eyes open. What did I do when I woke up? Became dissatisfied because my allies sacked Barcelona and Pamplona before I could. At least the Persians razed a few Spanish cities, allowing me to build a few new cities (LOL at starting cities like Minneapolis and Santa Fe; my empire is huge).
At least with Civ, I know the ins and outs. I'd be much more frustrated with learning Sim City, and somehow even more consumed by it. I don't have any room in my life for this game right now. Sigh.
So is it impossible to download SimCity 2000 on 64 bit Windows 7? I read something about the 64 bit not being able to something something 16 bit downloader or something (I don't know).
If you like these kinds of games, there was a game called transport tycoon deluxe, and there's an open source clone called openttd that works great on all modern versions of Windows. It's actually very similar to railroad tycoon, except instead of just railroads, you also get other modes of transport like buses, airplanes, and cargo ships. THAT game has taken a lot of my time.
I did and have not had any issues thus far.
I got it from a torrent off of piratebay. If you search for Sim City 2000, it's the one with the most seeders.
There should be a readme file, a reg file and a game folder.
Create a folder called "Games" on your C drive and copy the Sim City folder over. Click the reg file. Then you should be able to run the game.
If you don't want to mess with torrents, the reg file is easily found online as is the game download. I couldn't get it to work, so I went to the torrent where those instructions showed me what I was doing wrong (copying the game folder into the programs folder)
SimCity4 won't play on my computer (Windows 7) and I'm way too stupid with computers to figure out some work around. So, there goes that.
Im ready for aa 5th of vodica to end my feels.
Play Tropico 4 it's on Steam and it's on sale. At least you can play steam games off line. It's such bullshit!
Yeah I spent about 4-5 hours last night building a city from scratch. Every single time I get some positive cash flow I end up having to drop serious coin on another hospital, school, power plant, etc. If it weren't for the side adventures that allow me to make some cash I would've gone bankrupt about 5 years in.
Free shit alert
Anyone who bought SimCity will get a free video game, publisher EA said tonight.
Amazon stopped selling the download version for a while because of all of the problems.
Reading this thread made me remember that the best thing about the computer lab was getting to play Dino Park Tycoon
I just embarrassed myself with this post
Problems are pretty much cleaned up. EA added a bunch of servers and I have been able to log on everytime. Map is still a little too small but I they will update that soon enough.
One reviewer said the server he was connected to went down for about an hour while he was playing. Everything he did in that hour was lost because he wasn't connected. He had to redo everything.
Also another complaint is the game doesn't seem to have all of the features of previous versions. Things like subways and railroads. People think they purposely left these out so you have to buy the expansion pack later down the road.
The gameplay and graphics are great from what I've experienced so far. Railroads you can still do and they basically replaced subways with streetcars. If you are worrying about expansion packs down the road then don't buy the game.
Here's another promo video for Theme Park Studio.
The thoroughly, preposterously epic feel of this video has me thinking these guys are extraordinarily excited about what they are creating.
The ride shown here is a Top Scan ride, made by Mondial. And the experience of actually riding one does indeed deserve this video's music. Total insanity.
