At the age of 47
Rodney King, whose beating by Los Angeles police in 1991 was caught on camera and sparked riots after the acquittal of the four officers involved, was found dead in his swimming pool Sunday, authorities and his fiancee confirmed. He was 47.
"It's just so hard," Greivis said. "It's my heart, my love. Maryland made me who I am."
It's been an interesting week for Los Angeles' Kings.
Ironic that a black icon was found dead in a swimming pool, no?

Was water involved?
Clearly you've never been to a city pool on a Tuesday in July.
Now if he was found dead on an ice rink, that's a different story.
Another victim of dr drew,,,
"in his swimming pool????" Rodney must have done well following that terrible incident.
Also this piece was interesting:
"...Police in Rialto, California, received a 911 call from King's fiancee, Cynthia Kelly, about 5:25 a.m., said Capt. Randy DeAnda... Kelly was a juror in King's lawsuit against the city of Los Angeles in 1994..."

Save Us Reginald Denny
get money and earn it....then everything you touch turn to shit...got much to learn kid...LIGHT IT UP BURN SHIT
light it up like the dutch when the hash melt....only time they see him is when they need him with the cash belt.....eye carumba now thats my numba...one dry summer as far as I remember
burnt out but gaining every penny.....then hit him straight to the head like reggie denny
My guess is his settlement with the LAPD was more money than he had ever hoped to see in a lifetime ... and he did lots of stupid stuff with his relative wealth.
Just once I'd like to read about someone taking their slip-and-fall money and being smart with it.
the amount of racists that have come out of the woodwork cause of rodneys death is awesome
"People, I just want to say, can we all get along?" - Rodney King
Rodney only really made 2 comments the entire length of his fame and both were positive - one during the riots and once about Martin.
He fought alcoholism and lost and it was a tragic life. RIP Rodney KIng - I hope you finally find peace.
Well, to be fair, he's probably right if Internet comments are to be believed. Go to any news story on CNN etc. and read the comments section.
Sorry for the confusion I should have done a better job explaining my link. I was telling him, he was being trolled. If you read the article you'll see that there are some nefarious people in this world who like to take a great tragedy like this and have fun with it. They will make comments to try to get a response out of people, even if they don't really feel that way. I hope that clears it up for you.
This really sucks. Watching Rodney King on Dr. Drew, he really was a likeable guy. I actually thought he may stay sober, guess I was wrong.
His fiancee's story sounds fishy as hell and not surprisingly rumors are swirling that she killed him.
She woke up to him banging on the window, yelled out to him and then heard him fall in the pool. By the time she got outside he was sunk to the bottom and she called 911.
Sounds at least as plausible as gary colemans death story...
For some reason, I'm sad about this.
Just saw Rodney on the local news doing an update on the 20 years since the riots. He seemed like he had grown a lot.
