Not only do we do this through the gas tax, we do this through the Heavy Road Use Tax (Form 2290).
Heavy people are already taxed because we need to buy more food (subject to sales tax) in order to live.
And hide and seek advantage for you tiny tots
Israel has 1 main airport with what a couple hundred flights a day.........
I just read that Rand Paul is 5'7". LMFAO, get that midget shit outta here.
Detroit Hustles Harder
Funny story, went with Mrs Blacky and her friend a few weeks ago to miami. Her friend originally bought her ticket and forgot that her last name changed. We flew out of BWI and they didn't even notice the name difference between her ID and the ticket. Coming back from miami they noticed...she said she basically got frisked head to toe by a woman TSA officer...they emptied her carry on bags unfolded her clothes then made her put it all back. She was furious but understood later...thats what you get when you send up one of their red flags. Best part was, we went to mangos and some victoria secret fashion party....tons of free victoria secret stuff was taken out and scanned for bad things & I find out she totally jacked silverware from mangos or the clevelander or it just randomly fell into her purse still wrapped in a knapkin. Nice...I married a thief
Travelers would just wrap themselves in trash bags pre flight to shed water weight. That combined those who go shoe less to save weight would raise the funk factor to music fest levels.
Fat people can just hide it between their rolls.
"It's just so hard," Greivis said. "It's my heart, my love. Maryland made me who I am."
Yes, but then the rental car companies will apply a similar concept to drivers and total travel costs will even out.
Big Corn (Flakes)
The extra weight of a bomb would cause more sweating and panting than usual, they'd stand out too much.
Built-in air conditioners. You act like the terrorists wouldn't build that part first. That's how they would attract the fat people to Al Qaeda.
If pay as you weigh ever came into being, my boss would have me prepare for every business trip like I was in a wrestling match 3 weight classes down, eating laxatives and running around in a rubber suit all day before.
it's a known fact that there is a regular Thursday 8:00pm Al Qaeda meeting at the Waldorf Golden Corral Chocolate Wonderfall
7erps is going to make me run out of upvotes in this thread.
And LOL at the "conservatives" who believe in small government yet are in favor of a) mandating airlines charge more for heavier people, and b) favor increasing the TSA's mandate re: screening.
wait, I don't think anyone is talking about a gov't mandate on this, at least part A
you are an idiot. no conservative is in favor of mandating anything. if anything its the opposite; if airlines tried to implement this fair, market-based approach to pricing, it would be the liberals who try to mandate that airlines revert to the one size fits all pricing model. just like in every other industry, it is the far left who likes to dictate to businesses how they should run themselves.
NYCTerp is now OCTerp
You need to be careful with the use of the word "fair", if you don't like it when Obama uses it to justify taxing the "rich", it's hard to see using it here simply because you believe it to be.
ok, i'm just saying leave to the airlines to determine what pricing model is fair. without government intervention.
the difference is when obama uses the word fair, he's doing so to incite class warfare and pit the takers and makers against each other.
we are forced to pay taxes as u.s. citizens. no one has to fly on a particular airline.
The problem is that the airlines have needed repeated government intervention to keep afloat over the years. It's not like this is the model industry that has done everything right and thrived in a free market economy. It's terribly inefficient, highly unionized industry that competes against highly subsidized international competition.
I'm going to invent clothing that traps helium so all my fat frequent flyer friends can make weight every flight.
Your first damn post wrote about "finding common ground with Bloomberg" and a "fat tax."
Tagterp wrote, "Don't worry, as I said above, no chance this passes with liberals in charge of the government"
Why would you talk about Bloomberg and/or "passing something" unless you were talking about some sort of government mandate?
And, nice strawman - at the same time you're writing about telling private companies what they should do (and could have already done if they wanted too), you're blaming liberals for keeping your brilliant idea from happening.
The reason airlines don't charge by weight for humans is that 1) they already effectively charge by volume (graduated by first, business, economy plus, economy) 2) incremental human weight doesn't make much difference relative to the weight of the plane 3) it would be a horrible marketing move.
Once you get past the idiocy of thinking this would happen if not for the libruls, all you're left with is "let's punish the fatties for being fat" by either Bloombergian nannyism or a fat tax - which is what you started the thread with, and what I was LOLing at.
Except for wanting to mandate whether teh gays can get married, amirite?!
again, conservatives didn't start this fight. but thanks for creating the next culture war. it gives us something to rally around for the next forty years.
