Agreed. He isn't yet good enough to remotely be ready for big-time attention. When he crashes and burns well never hear from him again.
Which is too bad, because the gimmick is funny and Johnny Curtis can legit wrestle
It's not necessarily that. It's that his gimmick was fun, but now he's being overshadowed by the stupid song. Plus, they're going to make him a joke with the "fandangoing" nonsense.
How did Fandango go from a nobody who gets "you can't wrestle" chants one week, to being really over the next week? It seems unbelievable to me.
The gimmick is so bad and they dont realize the difference between being mocked and being over.
The thing is, I don't think it's being mocked. It's ridiculous, but Johnny Curtis is so into it, and is doing it really well, that it's hard to not at least be interested in it. It actually was getting somewhat over in the week leading up to Mania. But WWE is completely killing it.
fandango is awesome, but his spot this week was lolbad. "who wants to go fandangoing with me?" a one question awkward interview with lawler. i didnt get it at all. once he has wrestled he cant really stop wrestling because the crowd didnt say his name to his liking anymore. just keep being ridiculous with your awesome song.
That promo was awkward. He should have never engaged the crowd like that. It should come naturally. Plus I knew it was over for him when I saw little girls and black kids doing a cheesy dance in the crowd.
damn look at cena and ryback go all new jack/grimes (not really but still)...
That was a cool spot for a match I had literally zero hope for. Turned out to be a solid PPV match.
The WWE product has been so terrible lately. Punk can't get back fast enough.
HOF Mark Henry with the moment of the year in WWE tonight
major increase in injury angles all of a sudden.
Kind of ridiculous. Ziggler gets legit hurt, they make a big deal on how they're doing an awesome thing by not having him wrestle, then they do a bunch of head injury angles.
With Henry? He had teased on twitter that he was retiring, came out after a Cena promo, put over Cena, gave this huge retirement speech, cried, talked about his family, the whole works. Then Cena went for a hug and Henry gave him the World's Strongest Slam.
Just found it on Youtube for anyone else who cares..
Mark Henry fools John Cena and the entire WWE Universe and then attacks the WWE Champion.
If you watch tonight, you'll be able to see me an AJ Francis. We're front row by the ring, the same side as the cameras, so you'll likely only see the back of our heads.
Vickie was fired... :(
Vickie was freaking spectacular tonight.
I'm really excited for the Wyatt Family.
"It's just so hard," Greivis said. "It's my heart, my love. Maryland made me who I am."
How did the entrance look on TV? Pretty awesome? That hushed silence (other than the idiots chanting husky Harris) after they nailed Kane was a reaction I hadn't heard much in wrestling before.
The Husky Harris chant ruined what was a flawless entrance. I'm really excited for them. Only complaint would be that I wish they were a legit foursome stable rather than a Shield knockoff. They are so much more interesting with so much more potential. I hate 3-on-3 battles and I'm sure that's what we are heading for again.
I really think they may treat this threesome a little differently. Have it be Bray Wyatt and his disciples helping him, rather than a true trio.
So, more or less something like Gangrel and the Brood?
I guess you could say that, though interestingly enough, only Christian ever won a title while being part of The Brood. Better comparison would be CM Punk and the Straight Edge Society, only ramping up the cult part of the gimmick to 11. It'll be interesting to see exactly how they do it, and hopefully they don't fuck it up.
