Everything should be electronic when it comes to the actual ballots, between scanners and electronic booths. No need for volunteers at that stage (theoretically)
"Maryland football: Where everybody gets hurt and the starting left tackle has an existential crisis."
Why is New Hampshire reporting results already?
So out of all of the people talking about how easy it would be to pose as someone else and vote, how many of you actually did it?
Hackers have easily gotten into electronic voting machines in the us so there probably needs to be better security before we entirely ditch paper.
What the hell, I had to show my drivers license, voter registration card and sign a piece of paper.......completely slow cluster f even though all the people in line seemed prepared. The old people working the registration computers were........well, old.
........that fireball whiskey whispers temptation in my ear
Early happy talk from Romney. Will file this with my early headline about Obamacare being thrown out by the Supremes.
Rich Lowry writes on NRO: This is what the Romney folks say is encouraging them. Passed along for what it’s worth: CO: Adams County (lean D county) – strong R turnout based on morning data – on track to win since first time in 1984. AB/EV margins will be hard for them to overcome today. Right now – . . .
I'm going to just assume you voted in a huge battleground state like Ohio/Florida/Virginia and this was just an attempt to keep voters from voting.
Haha, you like those amendments?
I actually wrote myself in for the US Representative. Had no interest in the Dem or Green Party candidate running and figured it would be a waste to leave blank
Who's got my exit polls??????
I hate that there is so little news on election day. WTF am I supposed to be doing with myself until 7pm???
Anyhoo, some good Dem news on turnout according to the local govts. Turnout in Cuyahoga Co in Ohio (Cleveland) was above 50% of registered voters at 2:30, while 61% total voted in 2008. Charlottesville has already seen 2K more voters this year than in 2008. And apparently there are huge backups in NoVA and Prince William Co.
I'm sure there's similarly good news in Pub areas, but those stuck out to me. And the ridiculously wrong early exits are out around 5pm, and Drudge usually irresponsibly leaks them all, so be prepared....
Yup, Va.......and I think all the election workers were Leisure World residents lol
Just voted in VA. Took all of 5 minutes in Arlington. Got attacked by both Obama and Romney campaign workers as I went inside, trying to hand out sample ballots.
Any minute now you'll see both partisans on both sides beginning to claim victory based on not so secret leaked numbers
I took my 98 year old Mother to vote in Pennsylvania, and i voted in West Virginia. No one approached either of us to politic in the parking lot. I was kind of amazed that there wasn't anyone from either party outside the polling place in WVa. and only two card tables for local Dem and Rep candidates in Pa.
I'd just like to thank the star of this thread for increasing political awareness in our great nation. I never would have read through this thing without the random injection of hilariously retarded gay marriage comments.
WTF is a voter registration card anyway? I remember getting some piece of paper in the mail when I first registered to vote when I turned 18, am I supposed to keep that in my wallet or something?
This may or may not have been posted in the last few months, but for some light-hearted entertainment while we wait:
Good call. I wish I could have gone down there tonight. I hate being nervous and sitting around doing shit.
Voted as the rest of my refugee family sat in the rental car. Wife is checking on apt then off to hotel.
Report from my polling place: old people love voting like I love drinking.
I'm not into politics at all, but I love watching election returns - it's easily as good as any sporting event.
What is the best way to track local results? One of the news channels' websites?
