in the DMV?. i heard it just hit NYC so was expecting in DMW in a week or so
bells is a top 5 brewery for me.
are you in ATL proper? i'm always in Alpharetta but if you are in ATL or even close, one of the supposedly 3 or 5 best beer stores in the country is there - Hop City.
Been in buckhead since Thursday. Never got over that way. Wish I spoke up sooner.
Visiting my parents in Albany and the bottle shop near them had it in stock. No way I would have found it in DC with such limited distribution. $20/bottle btw.
We discussed your parent's whereabouts some time ago, was this Savemore on route 9? I was there and must have missed it if so.
Im ready for aa 5th of vodica to end my feels.
Yep, was in stock last week so had my dad pick up a couple of bottles. No Coffee though. Pretty awesome this area gets Founders now. Scored a four-pack of Backwoods Bastards there back in early November.
Anyone tried the Brooklyn Black Ops? I tried that after having a bottle of BCS, just to compare them and I figured they would be similar but they weren't at all. I felt like there was way more bourbon and heat from the alcohol in BCS (it is 15% compared to Bklyns 10%). Black Ops seemed more subtle, more chocolatey. It was good but I don't know I was expecting more. Maybe I need to try it without having BCS immediately before.

Alewife in Baltimore has Sculpin IPA on tap. If you like IPA, you'll love it.
My first time at Alewife. That might be the best bar in Baltimore.
I got one of these in my stocking, just drank it, and thought it was really awesome.
Heading there tomorrow. Hope they still have some.
Alrighty. Just put it on ice. Opening at kickoff. Hopefully its lucky. I was having a tough time deciding which to drink. Had a St. Bernardus already on christmas. I have 2 more. Plan to age 1 until next Christmas and hope to keep the other until christmas '17. Plan to buy 3 every yr with the same plan. However, if I notice a significant difference in a year of aging, might have to change the plan and not drink any unaged.
Pregaming with some HOHO winter ale from diamond knot brewing company out of Washington state. Using the ommegang 10th anniversary glass.
Not a bad beer. It's a fairly strong winter ale with some definite coffee hints. Leans to a porterish winter. Good value though.
Can really taste those spices.
I'm pretty buzzed but I'm currently drinking a Bamberger original (Germany) Mahr's Brau Christmas bock. It's very nice. Picked it up at corridor/total wine. Recommend.
Checked out 7venth Sun brewery in Tampa. Really good single hop IPA's and a bunch of Belgian vairiants that I didnt try, but looked interesting. Tiny tasting room in Dunedin, and the place has very limited distribution - definitely check it out before they get big
In Orlando now. Went to one of the highest rated bars in the country (Redlight Redlight) unfortunately for me, the specialize in rare Beligians and sour beers (although they did have Hop Stoopid on tap, which is money)
Orlando Ale house sucks - pedestrian selection
Mellow Mushroom in Winter Park was good - Bells 2 Hearted, Hopsecutioner and a few other rare-ish Southern beers
One more day here before hitting Miami
Be sure to hit up Peg's Cantina and Cigar City.
Just picked up a bomber of this when I saw it at the store, figured I liked the Night Owl and Great Pumpkin and Elysian loves their pumpkin and is good with it so it has to be good. Anybody have any experience with it?

Anyone have any experience in visiting breweries overseas? I'm specifically looking at places in Germany and possibly Belgium, since I'll be heading back to Germany on business in February.
I will be in a rural part of the southwest (Maulburg), which is close to the border of Switzerland and France. I've done the Rue Des Vin Alsace (Road of Wine in France), but I'm looking to do some beer tasting at the tail end of this work trip. Any ideas? I'm close to the Basil airport and a train station is located in the town I'm staying in. If need be, I can rent a car as well.
With all the recent hype from Westvleteren in this country, I'd love to visit their In de Vrede cafe, but it's quite far. There are so many other Belgian Trappist monasteries that produce many of my favorites, so I'm looking at those as well.
Mellow mushroom Is a southern chain but they always seem to have a nice draft selection. I spent a few nights at one in Myrtle beach.
I'd only been to the one in Atlanta previously and didnt realize there were 30 or so now scattered around the country. Definitely a nice beer selection for a pizza joint.

I've been picking up 750 bottles of Long Strange Tripel at Dawson's. Not bad, not bad at all.

Sierra Nevada Celebration
Dupont Avec le Bon Voeux
Pipeworks Foolish Wit

Sculpin is so good.
I had some Uinta Hop Notch IPA tonight...really good too. Best thing to come out of Utah since the pick and roll.
After a little blantons, my night consisted of a 750 ml corsendonk Christmas and some 1554 and GI mild winter. Good night but nothing too adventurous.
Where can I find Corsendonk Christmas? I haven't seen any of it at the Total Wine or specialty stores in southeastern VA. Could get my relatives to pick some up for me in MD if it is anywhere to be found.
