Shipyard Smashed Pumpkin...a 9.0% Pumpkin Ale with a lot more pumpkin flavor and a lot less spice associated with pumpkin ales (cinnamon, nutmeg etc), maybe a good or bad thing depending on what you want but I like it a lot. Light years different from their Pumpkinhead

Pumking is not good. I said it
I had a local pumpkin beer from a cincinnati brewey (Rivertown) that was my favorite of the year so far.
Just supremely balanced and not too sweet.
Hit up the Bluegrass Tavern last night. Good spot. Nice beer and bourbon selection. Price fix menu with pairings (3 courses). Not a great deal but a fun night out.
One of the few I haven't tried. Definitely prefer more pumpkin so I'll give it a shot.
Ugh, yea I just poured my bottle of it and its thoroughly disappointing. I felt like they accidentally put cream soda in the bottle, way too much vanilla, too sweet all around.

Headed to Victoria Gastropub tonight for their Pumpkinfest event for Baltimore Beer Week....."Pumpkin beers on tap from Weyerbacher, Southern Tier, Elysian, Shipyard, Saranac, Dogfish, Evolution, R.J. Rockers, Schlafly, Uinta, Heavy Seas, and many more." Actually haven't had Pumking either so might have it tonight and must have the Night Owl on tap, hoping there's some hidden gems not listed.
Great. Planned on letting my bottle sit for a while. Like months. Will that help make it less sweet?
I may be officially done with pumpkin beer.
New Belgium / Alpine Collaboration - Super IPA tonight at Kloby's. Exceptional beer, surprised it was a NB beer until I saw that Alpine helped make it.
Looking forward to checking out Alpine's brewpub after seeing their list on ratebeer
dont give up
schalfy, punkin, and the fear are all outstanding this year
I was planning on buying some punkin at Rodmans in Rockville tonight but it looks like they're done selling it for the year.
Pumpkin beers are more over rated than Radiohead IMHO
Not my cup of tea, but if you like them, good on ya
Anybody seen the Rogue Voodoo Bacon Maple Ale still around? Tried to pick some more up at Total Wine this week, but they were out.
Its in a bright pink bottle so its hard to miss.
I've been smoking a lot of cigars lately and that is my perfect cigar beer.

At least I procured a four pack of BCS last night before we all die.
They have a bunch of rogue beers at the new Old Line Liquors in Beltsville, so maybe try there. Huge place.
Pumpkin beers don't taste particularly good to me. After one, i can almost enjoy the second. It's one of those things that I do in the holiday spirit of things. Sort of like eating cranberry. I don't really care for the taste of it, but I still like to have a little at thanksgiving and Christmas.
You, sir, are far off the mark on Radiohead. They're the Pink Floyd of this generation.
More importantly for purposes of this thread, Halloween marks the advent of holiday beers that actually taste good. I cannot wait till Sierra Nevada's Celebration Ale hits stores. I'll buy at least a case of that. Picked up a six of Winter Storm yesterday. Tis the season.

Bourbon County Stout.
never liked stouts much, but this one is delicious.
Anyone know if this is available in MoCo?
it hasnt hit Moco yet, but it is, as of Friday at 4, at Rodman's in DC which is literally 2 minutes over the Moco/DC line. two 4 pack limit.
edit: re: Rogue Voodoo Donut
i saw it in Silver Spring today for the LOL price of $21.99. personally i think its an awful beer but to each his own. even if you like it, $21.99 is crazy overpriced.

Yikes, was 10.99 at Total Wine in VA
No offense, but that is one of the worst beers I have ever had. Tastes like Bac-o Bits and cigarette ashes. Just an awful brew.
My wife got me a bottle at prefect pour on saturday, but I have no idea if they still have it. I plan on drinking it this weekend.
