Carlos the Dwarf? You got a problem with that?
Beta is one of the most valuable sets.
This site has a pretty good listing of prices for cards. The links at the top take you to different groups of sets(chronologically). It pulls price data from the biggest online MTG retailer.
Note: it's listing retail price, which is very hard to get if you're selling cards by yourself, unless you're trading for other cards. Take 10-20% off these prices for what you could actually sell for.

Yep exactly. Here's an article for those interested. He was really smart as the article notes. Also a goofy kid. I knew he was playing in HS but had no idea he was that serious.
As the new U.S. National Champion of the almost absurdly popular role-playing card game a title favored among
Here are the two that I found while at home. The extreme right retails for 250 (bought for 40), and the second one retails for $350 (bought for 30).
Better than the stock market IMHO.
Thanks man. My inlaws are out of the country for a couple weeks. My cards (along with my baseball cards) have been stored in their basement. Looking through that price list, I think I may be able to trade them in for a new car. I'm pretty sure I have like 5-6 shiven dragons and a wetlands or 2 and tons of other cards on that list. Looking through that price list brought back a lot of memories. It was definitely a great game.
I had a bunch of these when I was real young and played with friends from time to time. Didn't really know how to play. Stopped messing with it around high school. Still have the cards somewhere stored but I remember most of my good cards got stolen.
I've just always been really drawn to strategy games. LOL at anyone who lets kids playing MTG in their dorms at night actually bother them.
I GET IT GUYS I'M AN ASSHOLE
So my wife just picked up my magic cards from my in-laws place and i'm trying to figure out if there are beta or alpha. I see some of my cards have a copyright date of 1994 but most of them don't say anything at all.
Can you tell what version the bayou is just by this picture?
It's a revised.
You can click on the different set icons on this link and it will show you the card image for each set. Alpha and Beta have black borders, and revised is the first set to use the tap symbol on dual lands.
Gatherer is the Magic Card Database. Search for the perfect addition to your deck. Browse through cards from Magic's entire history. See cards from the most recent sets and discover what players just like you are saying about them.
I WANT IT.
