I am pretty sure that the Suck has a "favorite kind of pooping" tournament in store at some point.
That would be awesome!
classlessthug: I have too much on my plate to worry about the fact that my junk intimidates some needle D undergrad.
I liked the All Time NBA Teams tournament. The debating aspect was fun IMO.
Saturday morning after two cups of coffee. Something good to read. Tournament over.
Im ready for aa 5th of vodica to end my feels.
I think there should be a tournament of some kind every month on the suck.

Let's have a tournament to decide the next tournament.
I blame TortugaGrande.
He's a horrible wretched person.
Salad dressing tournament?
Parmesan Peppercorn 1 seed!
The low point of The Suque was the transition to IMS in the middle of a large themed mafia game. But it wasn't our fault.

We need a "Storytime Tournament."
Entrants request participation, mods seed based on reputation (i.e.: Allenbaba = potential 1 seed). Each round, participants submit one story to mods. Mods announce each matchup in turn and post the two competing stories. Voting is open for 24 hours, and storytellers can participate in the threads to answer questions, lobby, add to the story, whatever.
Next round, new stories. Storytellers have to decide when to use their best material, and there is real-time competition aspect involved. No restrictions on what a participant can write about. If people don't like his story, he can add a totally different one in the thread if he thinks he needs to. Stories should be true, and people can question the storyteller and call shenanigans in the thread. No criteria for voting - just who's story (and followup) you liked best.
My schedule is such that I'd struggle to run it, but I'd love to read it.
If I ever saw that on a menu I'd order the shit out of it.
You underestimate just how low we can set the bar.
While infant son is crawling on the floor outside sticking his fingers under the door trying to get to you and yelling while you ignore him.
Throw in some fish and acid have you a nice ceviche
I like the idea but would run everything anonymously. Some posters would get a huge boon solely attaching their name to a story. In some cases that's deserved, but in others, it would become a popularity contest. For something like that, I'm honestly not even sure we need seeding unless you just want to do something for the sake of organization.
Holy crap, this is a great idea.
Tecmo is right though, you'd have to blind the stories and prevent storytelling posters from disclosing their board name.
Toogs could run this bad boy like a boss
OH SHIT! WHAT NOW RAISE! YOU FUCKED UP!
Have to agree, yet I can't stay away.
Taht would be awesome but no chance I'm running it.
Good point about anonymity. Could work like the SMB, except for the part where stories aren't going to remain anonymous. First story about a girl with a big arse using his crutches as a sex toy is probably going to be 2sticks.
I also kinda like the live competition / interaction aspect. The feelings caught when someone's favorite story ever is deemed boring will be great.
Sorry but the tournaments suck too (except for worst and best poster tourneys). It takes up too much time and bandwidth. We need more posts of funny stories, hook-ups, call-outs. Generally every Tiffles thread. Same for Zombie too. And if not those guys the next generation. We should focus our efforts on that vs. 10 thread/day tournaments to discuss what your favorite condiment is.
It's taking no effort from anyone but me, and I don't have any good stories. It's not like vibrant threads fall off the page when there is a tourney
We had a stories week a few months ago. Hook-ups are tough because we don't have very many students these days. Call-outs have to happen organically, you can't force it.
Tournaments and Mafia are just time-killers to keep activity up when nothing exciting is going on.
At some point this summer, I'm definetly running a "best Maryland Youtube" tournament, so just prepare yourselves now.
If you're so smart, why aren't you rich?
