Can everybody chill the hell out about a heavy rainstorm?
i don't know what we're yelling about and loud noises. anchorman brick
why do you hate fun
Thousands without power, evacuations of major cities, what's the big deal here?
4 hours prior to the 12-hour storm-emergency-warning period is definitely when you should call it out as being overrated, IMO.
Now I kind of hope this turns into the greatest natural disaster in world history so this can be the "three more outs!" thread for a new generation
Given the billions of dollars of damage Sandy has already caused apparently isn't enough, I have a feeling the storm would have to lift up YNCMT's house Wizard of Oz-style for him to think this wasn't a "letdown". So you really only have to root for damage in one specific location.

NOW can everybody who lives more than 20 miles inland STFU about the rain?
OMG TEH WIND!!!!!!
This is not a comment on those genuinely affected by the Giganticest Rainstorm of the Millennium. It is a comment on the ridiculousness of the DC area freak-out over nothing.
lots of people were calling for devastation in the bmore-dc area. i wouldn't say it's "nothing" but it hasn't nearly been as bad as a lot of people on this board were making it out to be.
im sorry i was confusing...your "Superbowl" was the Redskins losing since you know that the Ravens cant win it all.
Well, I don't have power in a portion of my apartment, and no heat or hot water. And as of this morning my wonderful xfinity tv/internet combo was out. As far as I'm concerned that makes this the equivalent of Hiroshima, the Black Plague and Krakatoa combined.
Yeah, I mean we didn't lose power and nothing really happened to us, but a bigass oak tree did fall down about 15 yards away from our house and took out our neighbor's deck. If it had fallen a different way it could have taken out a chunk of our roof. So while its not the worst storm I've ever seen here, it still wasn't 'nothing'.
This area was extremely lucky.
i'm just pissed fox and nbc felt the need to storm watch broadcast all night last night so i missed x factor and the voice. it annoyed me so much. the broadcasters loved to use panic words like "surge" all the time. completely worthless.
People that watch karoke tv programs like to hear hyperbolic words and watch nonsense storm broadcasts. So, it all makes sense.
It was pretty obvious from about 2 days ago that this would be less bad for the DC area than the Derecho. The hysterical freakout regardless--facts be damned, we've got our alarmist narrative--was, well, hysterical.
Yeah, it's pretty hilarious when half of your area is without power and there are dozens of trees down. Laugh riot.
I know there will be no convincing you....I'm pretty cynical myself but, there were aspects of this storm that scientists and meteorologists could measure and those measurements were "worse" than anything in recorded history....no? If you don't react with extreme caution when the signs are unprecedentedly bad then when do you?

Not surprising in OBAMA'S AMERICA
I might not be able to get back to work for a week. I'd say that's a bit out of the ordinary for just a rainstorm.
We aren't the dumbfucks who decided to live below sea level.
Thanks for bringing your hard-hitting facts to the table! You're probably the smartest person ever.
I got the shotgun. You got the briefcase. It's all in the game though, right?
