The Capital One commercials with Jimmy Fallon
I've lost my ability to match an ad with a brand. Like the discount double check. Must be insurance (probably Geico?) but could easily be Pizza Hut or mufflers to me.
Ear Wax Vacuum.
But if it worked, how cool would that be? #almost 50
The advertisement people for Sports Reports should all be canned. That show has the worst set of commercials of all times:
- 1-877 KARS FOR KIDS
- Kornheiser hawking Window Nation
- Long Windows (Isn't it time youuuu, GOT A-LONG)
- Czabe schilling for Slingbox
- Gary talking about NetApp or some net security thing - I love Gary, but I'm not listening to him for security stuff
But, my personal favorite is the commercial for that weird doctor who apparently makes medicines for ED and PE and doesn't give out an address, just that he's located in the Baltimore/Washington DC area. "If you are a man with ED, Please, LISTEN TO ME"
Apple iphone commercial with venus and serena. Hate the narrators voice.
I like Rick Jacklistch, he's a great guy. The Big Dog commercials are horrible though. But, I only hear them on UM sports events on the way to/from the game, so not as annoying.
Thanks to the magic of DVR, I haven't seen most of these.
Im sticking with using a q-ti....AHHHHHHHHHHHH!
Oh yeah, I've seen that one and love it. So many punctured ear drums can now be avoided by sticking a tiny blow dryer into your ear canal.
i've been supplementing my income as an independent aflac agent. it's unbelievable to me that this company has a >90% recognition rate because of the duck commercials, but MAYBE 5% of people i talk to actually knows what they are/offer.
i will say that many people have said, well for the amount of money that you guys spend on advertizing, you must be a pretty solvent company. we are, but when people say that, i immediately think of the tech company disasters.
I'm somewhat surprised by that. I think Aflac does a better job explaining what their company does, while driving home that name recognition in their commercials (at least lately).
i agree about the 'lately' part. but people almost inevitably think i sell health insurance and that i'm trying to replace their current programs. it is not health insurance.. it doesn't replace employer-paid benefits. it's supplementary (accident, hospital, cancer, etc) and it's employee-paid (at corporate, pre-taxed rates.)
but back to advertizing.. during the bcs championship game, when aflac aired that commercial about the duck getting into an accident and breaking it's beak and hurting its wing... MILLIONS of people went online and sent it get well cards.
that just makes me shake my head and laugh. :-)
recently, i closed an account with a company whose owner posts here. he told me that his people would probably not like the free ducks (that have sound) so i gave everyone i met with a choice between a duck and a hand sanitizer. i gave way ONE hand sanitizer. LOL
Not really irritating but I've been wondering for a while why NATCA buys so much advertising on sports radio. I don't give a shit about the air traffic controllers union and I don't think most people listening to sports radio are ready to go support a labor action for them.
Do they just have a ton of union dues to burn or is there some reason they think I need to care about them "bringing me home."
Why is he always hanging out with that penguin? I really don't get it.
Fuck aflac, they should never have fired gilbert gottfried and definitely not hired a weak gilbert impersonator!
the commercial actor for rhapsody pisses me off so much
I hate the commercial, but laugh everytime I see that part.
Not just WTEM, they are constantly on 'WTOP as well, and are all over Nats Park. . I've talked to a buddy of mine who works at FAA and he doesn't get it either. Wonder if that's the best use of Union dues, can't be cheap.
Millions of people sent a fake duck a get well card but no one stood up to defend a real life hero in Gilbert Gottfried?
Because everybody loves penguins. Do you love penguins? I bet you do. If you don't, go watch Happy Feet. Like right now.
Have you ever heard anybody who was like "Man, you know what animal I really hate? Penguins. They think they're all pompous and shit with their tuxedos. All you guys do is waddle and be cold!" Because if you do know that person, they're probably a serial killer.
EVERY ad should have penguins in that. You hear that, Allenbaba? I expect royalties when you execute my idea. Put a penguin on the hood of that car you sponsor and you'll see sales SOAR.
"Maryland football: Where everybody gets hurt and the starting left tackle has an existential crisis."
There's some metal detecting commercial that runs during day time TV (along with the earn-a-degree-in-pajamas crowd) trying to sell metal detectors.
If that isn't bad enough, the douchebag holds up some coin he finds and delivers that "with finds like THESE, I'll pay for my college education in NO time" line.
No. No, you won't. You will never even recoup the price you paid for the worthless metal detector.
Hey, it's also good exercise!
That's my retirement plan you're scoffing at, bub.
