Play a hot shoe? My wife has had a decent amount of success at blackjack and she pretty much plays the book except if she's up money she'll either press her bet by 50% or double it until she loses a hand.
Has anybody been to the new Casino/Hotel in AC, Revel?
*If the table is hot.
If the table is cold, it's like a trip to the morgue.
Last time I was in AC (a couple months ago) walked through it for about 15 minutes. Very, very nice looking casino. The poker room is located on the floor above the main casino, completely separate. Main complaint is the place is basically a maze... no signage or directions anywhere on the main floor of the casino. Got lost trying to get out of the casino and had to ask for directions...
Also when I went the poker rooms were running 6 tables on a friday night. They give you huge drink glasses though so we got pretty hammered. Also they have random dancing girls (cloths on) at some of the tables.
Hot shoes, hot tables. lol.
Then everyone hates you, and that takes away the fun from playing craps in the first place.
For the record, I don't believe in hot shoes/tables/etc. I just mean that a table that's running well is 239472394723497 times more fun than a table that's not. I find this is true in craps more than in other games.
Yes, goes without saying.
I just wanted to make sure that you were making fun of parlay instead of me!
I wonder if this place is as good as the Borgata or is the Borgata still top dog in AC.

I don't think so.
For poker, Borgata, is ten times the place Revel is. Borgata has 50+ tables every weekend, Revel will have 10 if they're lucky. Revel has been booking top entertainment acts since they opened (Beyonce opening weekend, Kayne has had or is having some shows there soon.) Revel is trying to attract more of the resort-type crowd; Borgata is probably still a little more gambler-friendly. Revel is on the beach/boardwalk, Borgata is in the Marina area, etc. Both have first-class service.
For now, Revel is commanding higher rates, but that's probably more because of a novelty than anything else.
** Edit - I haven't been to Revel, but I'm fairly certain those descriptions are accurate from what I've read. **

To me, Borgata is still the best. From what I heard Revel could have had their pick of people who know how to run a good Poker room but they went cheap and their tourneys are whack. Borgata still owns when it comes to poker.
As Borgata's main competition now, Revel just didn't do it for me. You get friendlier service, better comps, and a more relaxed atmosphere at Borgata, plus as UM said, better poker. At Revel, you have all your table games (less poker) set outside of all the clubs so all you get is thumping base from their clubs non-stop. The plus is the girls wearing next to nothing and all of the female club goers. You would think that being the new "it" casino, the dealers there would have some experience dealing. The 1st blackjack table I sat down at was the dealer's 1st night (0 previous experience) and I'm pretty sure they put her on the table because she was hot. When Borgata opened, they got a lot of experience dealers from the other casinos in AC. I could just have a bad sample, however.
As others have said, it is a maze. We walked around for about 45 minutes before returning to our original spot.
Plus, I don't like all the homeless looking people laying on the couches at the bottom of the escalator.
Borgata is still #1 up there and Revel (gambling wise) has a long way to go if it wants to match Borgata (I'm not a club person).
