i just stumblred across this. for the nerds
No ice in drinks, period. Ice tastes like crap.
If I'm drinking beer, no ice. If I'm drinking scotch, no ice. If I'm drinking water, no ice. I can't really think of anything else I drink.
The only time I'll actually drink ice is in the rare iced latte during the summer at Starbucks. I have no clue how much they put in it, and don't really care.
Oh, plus, enjoy that fecal matter if you are drinking ice drinks at restaurants:
Are food handlers taking the same precautions with ice as other foods?
1. i'm sure ice tastes
2. there's fecal matter everywhere
people that don't put ice in fountain drinks because it "takes up space" are the same people that drive 10 miles to save $0.02/ gallon on gas. I'm sure that warm extra inch of soda at the bottom of the cup tastes awesome.
that is great
omg stocking stuffer
So you don't have ice because ice tastes like crap, but you drink water?
Interesting. Elementary school science mind blown.
I'm assuming you're NOT talking about soda, even though everyone else is. But someone else mentioned shaking your drink to make it cder quicker, too.
Suque, please don't shake your soda to make it colder, less hot, or anything but all over the place.
The more you know
WHAT THE FUCK!! FUCK YOU FOR BEATING ME BY SECONDS TO THE EXACT SAME THOUGHT....SPEND THE EXTRA TIME TO GET A PICTURE NEXT TIME, ASSHOLE!
Well obviously. I was under the impression we were talking about alcohol. Though I have been witness to newby "dorm bartenders" getting their first shaker cup and doing precisely this trying to make a "classy" rum and coke.
if it was warm, we'd put ice in it!
Phatboy if you had any balls I'd meet you at the AFA Boxing gym and have Coach Weichers put some gloves on us.
Anybody who uses this thread to explain the properties of ice as if anyone cares is a huge douche. You're better than that.
Also, I feel sorry for the icers out there. I also enjoy making everything in life more bland!
So this is what Jeff is trying to get me to sign up for...
Periodically, leafy likes to remind us that yes, in fact, he did attend NC State.
I'm convinced that people who don't use any ice are sociopaths.
I figured the whole ice thing was going to be a trick question or one of those Mensa thingies like: How far can a dog run into the woods? Who knew it was serious?
I put enough in to make my drink cold.
Do you guys like going on dates to the drugstore to get malteds? "Soda" is such a 1950s word. Stop using it.

I saw your post, saw your name, and I'm still not sure if you're serious or joking, so I'm going to post this anyway

WTF are you talking about? What else should it be called?
We're not in the Big 10 yet, so don't say "pop"

I don't like stale water, either. You let anything sit around exposed to air for a significant amount of time and it is going to pick up flavor. I don't like the flavor it picks up.
Maybe I have a very sensitive palate, but I can taste the difference between a cup of cold water that had ice in it, and a cup of cold water from the tap and/or bottle. The water that had ice in it tastes bad to me.
Maybe you're just a weirdo?
