Two bodies were found in a vehicle Tuesday morning after firefighters put out a car fire in McFarland.
The McFarland Police Department was investigating the deaths. Sgt. Joe Hornbeck said late Tuesday “it doesn’t appear that foul play is an issue here.” He said more information would be available today.
Police responded at about 6 a.m. to a car fire near the intersection of Holscher Road and Prairie Wood Drive, Chief Craig Sherven said in a press release. “Upon extinguishing the fire, two deceased individuals were discovered in the vehicle,” the release said.
The identities of the bodies were unknown early Tuesday. Police provided no other information, including the victims’ genders or the type of car.
Some other info: It was 6 am on a residential street, no explosion, no crash of any kind, it has been ruled accidental, the car doors were all closed. Young recently engaged couple. It is like the combusted and didn't even try to get out.. There has to be something more?

They were clearly killed prior to the fire, which was used to conceal the murder.
You should watch more TV.
Cue spooky music...
Near my house there was a car that burned because of a broken power line that hit it.
It happened at 6AM on 1/1. They probably got drunk at a New Years party and decided to sleep in the car rather than drive, and didn't fully extinguish a cigarette.

At around 5 a.m., Slattery and Damon left the New Year's Eve gathering to go back to their home in Edgerton, police said. The owner of the vehicle gave them permission to drive his car home as he wanted to stay, police said.
Police said the couple traveled about a block and a half and pulled over near the intersection of Holscher Road and Prairie Wood Drive. Police aren't sure why the couple pulled over.
According to witnesses at the party, it didn't seem as if Slattery and Damon were impaired, so pulling over because they realized they were too intoxicated to drive doesn't appear to be the case, according to Sherven.
McFarland police said the engaged couple who were found dead in a burning car had traveled to the area for a New Years Eve gathering.
Cigarettes self extinguish after a certain period of time. It's not long but i don't know the number
im hearing pg plaza is the spot!
How can the cops know how these two died, and that there isn't foul play involved? Tox testing isn't even complete, their bodies presumably were burned, the scene burned. I accept that you don't presume foul play, but I can't see it being ruled out at this point.
Is it possible the car did not have a working smoke detector?
Cars have smoke detectors?
To be fair, it Wasn't THAT obvious.
Freak gasoline fight injury?
Heh, when we were in Brooklyn for the Kentucky game and saw all the ridiculous lines for gas, we thought about how ridiculous it would be to wait in line forever and then start an impromptu gasoline fight.
eamhokie94: Is your name Nazi in pig Latin?
Wrong. Up until recently it looks like, you could get non self-extinguishing cigs in Virginia. Or at least that's what a smoker friend told me once.
Apparently I'm in a different country from MisterSmiley. : (
The thing I don't get is... if a fire breaks out in the engine or you smell smoke, presumably you open the door and get out. To me it means that they had to be incapacitated in some way to make no effort to flee. Is it possible to get incapacitated in a car in like 5 minutes and be able to pull the car over but not get out... Shit just doesn't add up to me..... I'm just assuming he woke up at the party found his girl banging everyone, took her out in the car, shot her, lit the car on fire and then shot himself.... But what do I know....
I'm pretty sure that having your pants on fire while in a car does make a car fire more likely.
I was searching for a 'dry humping starts fire' joke, but I'll go with yours instead.
Maybe exhaust problem caused carbon monoxide to back up into the car, they pass out, fire starts, crispy critters....
LOL, just saw this. Talk about making an early call on the "no foul play" business.
I like Strza's theory but there is no way you can make that call right off the bat.
It happens sometimes. People just explode. Natural causes.
well you never know then. at least the majority of cigarettes being used are self extinguishing but your point is valid.
